Old Dog, nice plants....good to know someone who's read Dali Hempy's original threads...how laughable and entertaining were his temper tantrums when anyone suggested improvements to the hempy's simplicity...sounds like you may be working an improved version too. I wish you luck. Swing over to the "World of Hempy" thread https://www.rollitup.org/drain-waste-hydro/546006-world-hempy.html and introduce yourself...warm friendly folk there and no flames...lots of info passed and everything from 2L SOG to 5G outdoors.Great grow, and great info Jela10! I have been using a modified hempy, using airpots and a 14" oversized catch basin as the res. The basin is 4" deep. I was using 75%perlite and 25% peat, but found Dalia's hempy coco thread at the other site you spoke of three days ago. Just swithced my new babies(Paradise Seeds Delahaze, and Greenhouse AMS) into their coco hempys last night. Looking forward to the results. Here is my Blue Lemon Thai from CH9. It actually was a 55 day flower, not 60! Got just 5g shy of 5oz from a 24" tall, 26" wide plant! I also have designed a bucket that sits on a plastic, stackable storage drawer set. Drilled holes in top so that the airpots runoff can leak right through the top into the drawer. I save the runoff from the drawer and feed again later the same day. So, more like active hydro instead of passive, but I am the only "active part of this system. I have the extra time, and love to spend it in my grow. I will try to post pics with this shitty computer cam later. Thank you again, and peace to all my brothers and sisters
Thx mxtimmyr! When you try it...skip the all perlite version and try coco first...(coco up top, perlite in reservoir)....You just might like hempy over airpots for watering ease and frequency. We still get air in there somehow....hempy magic! BTW 400W is great for less plants...I use 380W of LED during the summer and still make monsters in 2gal buckets. It's weird how I stumbled on this method while I grew in soil...never ever going back. Check out "World of Hempy" and tell 'em jela sent yah. https://www.rollitup.org/drain-waste-hydro/546006-world-hempy.htmlDude I cannot believe the arm sized colas you have achieved under 400w lights .
Hempy buckets aren't something I've heard of before, but it's something I'm definitely going to be looking into it with my next grow, maybe 2 pots alongside my usual setup. I particularly like the idea of combining with airpots (which I am a massive fan of) like Old Dog showed above.
Well done again, and I hope you break the scales!
Tx, yes, frost during 100° temps here; I'll be popping last pics up here as soon as RIU gets over it's problem...site is really bogging down in the evenings. Trimming next few days...lower buds get the TrimPro this time...my poor aching scissor hands. Those buds will look Mighty Fine all trimmed and manicured, so the ugly leaves won't matter...LOL. Excellant grow, I'm going to flower with everything this week.
Nice new avatar Who-kie! Yes, foxtailing is just that, singular buds that strat growing out & away from the main cola.Jeal, great read tonight, sending over to WOH...
I think foxtails are extra buds that grow of the cola? I think I have some on my plants too.
But I can't wait to see the harvest
Thx puff-d! Yes I can say this is the lowest odor strain I've ever grown...early on in flower you had to touch it or disturb it in some way to get a citrusy sweet smell and only until last week could you smell anything in the room when the tent doors were opened for maintenance. Its definately a grapefruit type of smell and no one I know would associate it to MMJ. Even then it's a light smell, not strong. We will see how the odor is when I start trimming.hey man looks superb, you have done those genetics proud. tell me, I heard a rumour SB was low odour, can you confirm or deny this?
That's good information to have Jela. SB being low odor.Thx puff-d! Funny one Moe, my hempy brother! That reminds me, part of the SB cross is Lambsbreath...It might just be more feasible to get a sniff of a lamb at a petting zoo....aids longevity compared to shark "huffing".That's good information to have Jela. SB being low odor.
Maybe that's where the name comes from, as its pretty difficult to smell a sharks breath too (since they're fish) lol
Oh, I've smelled 'Lambsbreath'. It smells baaaaad.Funny one Moe, my hempy brother! That reminds me, part of the SB cross is Lambsbreath...It might just be more feasible to get a sniff of a lamb at a petting zoo....aids longevity compared to shark "huffing".
Oh my side is hurting....after that one....LMAO.Oh, I've smelled 'Lambsbreath'. It smells baaaaad.
Thx 808! Nore pics to come...hey your new room is the shit man...wished I could dedicate a whole room to my grow...That's awesome jela... great job man!
Shiva, how interesting, we went to granite wholesaler and found some "Mascarello" slabs that were discounted due to a few defects. I met with the rock cutter and we laid out the pieces for our kitchen such that the defects weren't included in any one piece. Saved a ton of money. This stuff is so articualte you can get stoned and find little scenes inside it. Funny we never can find them the next day.(LOL)Kick ass cola dude! Really dig your granite kitchen island. The warehouse attatched to the one i run is a granite wholesaler. Ive collect a metric fuckton of their scrap to use once i get ambitious.
