I agree there are alot of shit movies out there, but I disagree that all of them are shit and that the actors are just highly paid pretenders IMO.Many of the actors actualy have talent,If they can captivate millions of people even those who are really critical about what they watch, you have a truely talented performer, the likes of Tom Hanks,Billy Bob Thornton(Sling Blade mmmhhmmm),that movie was more or less b-grade but the acting and performance was good shit!Jeff Bridges in True Grit ...of course hes the dude but nonetheless awesome in just about every movie he dose.I suppose its a matter of perspective if you could even be open to watching movies.

The same reason i never watch TV. I only will watch tv if its like discovery channel or something. I do like going to the movie theater sometimes though that's always fun, but i agree most movies are shit and i rarely watch them. A good comedy is worth watching to laugh maybe an action movie once in a while.

Beardos back!! A few newer members don't seem to know who he is.
yes productive such as posting threads about movies on rollitup.org
What is your issue? Movies, or the amount of money that actors get paid (or just actors in general)? How can anyone not like movies? That's like saying, "Oh i don't like music. It's just people making loud noises and plucking strings and blowing on other things. Also, I hate laughter and having fun."

I think movies are stupid.
Am I the only one?
I can not understand why people watch movies, do people actually enjoy watching them or do they just do it because other people do it?
What is the point of watching people pretend to be someone they're not?
And why would anyone waste there time watching people pretending or pay money to watch people pretending?
I don't get it, couldn't people be doing something productive instead of watching movies?
And couldn't actors be doing something better than acting?
Don't actors ever just want to do real stuff instead of just pretending?
I'm confused
I saw Ted the other day. Loved it!

i wouldn't say actors are useless. overpaid and generally overrated, but not useless. bringing art to life can be a very cool thing.

most people are shocked at the number of movies i've seen. there are probably 10 year olds who have seen more movies than i have. they are generally too long to sit through, yet not long enough to get truly familiar with the characters. there's only so much depth a character can show in an hour and a half, and there's always gaps in the story so they can "get to the point". when the credits roll i always have all sorts of questions about details that were glossed over and a shitty ending can really ruin the whole movie.

that's why i like tv. with a tv show, you can get to know the characters over the course of several years, and see them in a variety of situations. plots can go in several directions in that amount of time, people come and people go, and you only have to sit there for an hour at most unless it's a finale. if you've followed the thing for years, a couple hours for a finale is actually something to look forward to. it's not like a movie where i have to pay 12 bucks to quite possibly flush 2 hours of my life.

I thought I didn't like movies but that was before I saw a movie called machine gun preacher.
I just watched machine gun preacher and it was like it was made for me by G-D like it was speaking to me, It was the most amazing movie I have ever seen and it has had a major impact on me, it was a life changing event, I will never watch another movie again, I am going to stop wasting my life
