Do blind people have dreams?

I guess the question I would have is if a blind person never saw anything how would there brain know what stuff looks like to dream it?

Edit....even with imagination April would it all be in black in white since theyve never seen colors? Damn I'm super interested now. I need to meet a blind from birth person and ask some questions.
Ya see she could remember some colours like red blue green black but she asked me to describe colours to here, lol that was very hard, i used emotions and things like "the feeling of warm sun kissing ur skin is yellow" But like canna just said a brown monkey could be a purple banana to them, they create images from descriptions we give/smells/ textures... she said it was more about shapes and feelings , how she does this I have no idea, but i was so curious lol and kept asking questions.

Now blind and deaf would be horrible, trapped in a body unable to communicate, that scares me, how do these people go thru life in the dark :( Ok i'm not high enough....

I remember some dreams from a very early age in which my mind substituted random shapes for things I didn't know how they looked. Have you ever had that experience at the edge of sleep where words take on different meanings? A blind person could perhaps dream of a pink circle, but legitimately say "I dreamt of a horse." Just blue-skying here ... cn
Yeah but if they've never seen a circle or the color pink or a horse how would their brain know what any of that even looks like? And what do you mean you didn't know what they looked like? Sure it wasn't something you had seen somewhere somehow in some way? Maybe you didn't realize that your brain had caught sight of said object? I honestly don't know but very interested. Where are the blind members hiding lol?

Edit.....once again April somehow answers my question while I'm still typing it. Haha.

aw shit style sheets just went into the diapers let's see if i can still post Obviously, a congenitally blind person would not know from pink or circles. I was omitting part of the imaginary journey which informed my post ... imagining a blind person dreaming while instrumented. The brain scan might show "pink and circle" activity in the visual cortex, but to the dreamer it will have represented Horse. Dunno if this makes sense. Off to search for the "submit" thingie ... cn

Sorta makes sense. I'm gonna do some independent research.
