I know that if you hermie a plant and then use the pollen to make fem seeds that the fem seeds you get grow out just like the fem seed plant you sprayed to make it hermie...this is just from my experience...so the fem seeds you get will be the same pheno as the plant that gave the female pollen...unless they use fem pollen to make a cross, and then you get all manner of phenos again...
But I ordered a fem seed of a strain called Rocklock from DNA Genetics..and I really liked it...but since it was a fem seed the only way I could reduce it to seed with no male, would be to have it hermie..and I would rather do it chemically than have the plant do it itself...so I sprayed one rooted clone with Sodium Thiosulfate Solution (STS) and didn't spray another rooted clone growing beside it...Then they both went to flower...one clone was of course female, but the other one was i had sprayed was more male than female..anyway I took the fem Rocklock pollen from the hermie I had made and put it on the other plain old female clone of the same strain, a clone from the original plant in fact...and I got seeds that grow out just as uniformly as any clone of the same beginning Rocklock plant...It gets confusing though..because I don't want to steer people wrong, but I have a hard time telling which plant is a clone from the original Rocklock, and which one is a fem seed I made...they are exactly the same...
So...in summation I am not sure what I am saying...but there---I said it!...
Oh wait..yes, now I remember...
Fem seeds if done correctly would give you the same plant as the plant they were collected from...
I did use some hermie pollen to chuck a little and those seeds are different because it was 2 different strains...but if a fem seed is made by a plant, for a plant, it can be only that one plant...
I guess you could have a 5 pack of seeds and let's say you get 3 different female phenos you could get a mix of phenos by hermieing one and leaving the other 2 to make the seeds and you will see variation, but ideally a fem seed is one plant that has been cloned, and essentially seeded by it's own pollen..thus making it a copy, with no phenos or variations.
