Hi folks, I need help! I am a newbie, and am growing outside. Mekong Haze is one of the strains. Because I am in the northeast, I covered 36 hours to start the process mid july. Using miracle grow and now bloom enhancer MG. In week 5 and I see I may have 2 hermies and a third on the way I see I may have caused by these possibilities: 1) To go dark outside, I am in an urban environment with street lights, which are too bright, I initially used 4-5 black plasic bags on a tomatoe trellis to cover them, then switch to opague plastic barrels. The bags may have let some light in, from the first 36 to the 12/12 for a couple weeks till I got the barrels. The barrels, as you can see have made the upward groth go sideways..does this stress the plant and cause hermies? The barrels, while dark, may have too much reduced circulation, another stessor, for the 12/12. Last, and for next year, how do I darken these. I can not do a greenhouse, must be outdoor and must be able to move tha dark whatever on and off, everyday, so it can not be a permanent structure. How do I darken to allow circulation in hot outdoor sun? Canvas? seems to heavy. Anything allows light in no? Help!and Thanks!!!!!.PS I assume I can do nothing about these now..thx again!!!.DSC00711.jpgDSC00712.jpg

That's no hermie that a straight male! Cut that mofo down before he violates your one possible good plant left! So I would say you never had a light leak and all is normal you just got unlucky and had a couple males this go around

on a positive note it looks like a very happy, well grown male...but if you have females in there, i guarantee they have been knocked up...Just means you get a LOT more seeds (NON-fem)

wow great feedback folks..really weird that three outta three plants, a mix of afghan and the Mekong are all males! I bought from kind seed in Canada..never again I guess but wow, w a 98% feminized success rate, seems weird..but ok..2 more questions please...1) can u recommend a seed bank where u have never had a male? and 2) I am still worried about circulation w the plastic barrels. They are on mulch, but pressed down. So I think no light is getting in and some air through the mulch. If circulation is critical 12/12 outdoors, is there any thing I can use instead of barrels that breaths but still keeps it dark?fuck im pissed off, been raisin those "males" since april..rrrrr....but again thx for the info!!!

I looked up the Mekong Haze on a couple sites, and they only have regular seeds.
