I'm 1 week into veg with my 2 plants in a basement closet under 400 watt mh bulb. my temp with lights on is 73 lights off 66 degrees. My humidity right now during lights on has dropped to 43% is that ok??? or is that too low

They will do fine in the 40s, as you grow more leaves the humidity will tend to raise. Humidity in that range is perfect for flowering. What is the humidity of the air you are drawing in?

Your big light is adding to the low humidity. You could get by with 3-4 CFLs just fine for another week or two.

I grow in a tent with my himidity around 40-50% and I've never had a problem. Bud always turns out fine. I wouldn't worry so much if I were you, these are hardy plants and more often than not they will grow like they should regardless of how much we worryaboiut them and fuck with things trying to create the perfeect environment. I do not proclaim to be an expert so I'm sure there will be different opinions but my advice again is, DON"T WORRY!

In my experience growing a variety of plants (not just MJ) high humidity and moisture is a problem way more than too dry. If you keep your temps under control about all low humidity does is require more frequent waterings. High humidity can lead to many different problems.

Careful getting your temps too low in the sixties that early in the grow stage. What kind of pots are you using? I use smart pots (fabric pots) and they tend to get a little white mold/powdery mildew around the outside of the pot. Nothing that has caused too many problems for me, but its something that van very easily get out of hand.

I usually drop my temps towards the end of flower, but even with humidity in the 40-50% range the cold temps can invite pm, especially with cold temps that early in the life cycle.
