Alright, thanks alot detroitchaos! May I ask you what exactly does the perlite do to the soil?
I'm currently at work and don't really wanna google up stuff like this here :)

Once again, thanks!

EDIT: + rep

Perlite is an inert light weight rock essentially. It aerates the soil so that more oxygen penetrates to the roots as well as facilitates water drainage when you water the plants. By draining better you prevent over-watering although it is still possible to kill the plants by over-watering.

Vermiculite serves a similar purpose, some soil mixes use both but perlite is more common.

Looks like they will make it, but definitely from here on out use different soil. I veg in roots organic (50/50 with sterile promix for seedlings) and have loved it thus far. make sure you are not over watering trying to help them. never dealt with NL but heard ist a pretty picky strain. Just what i heard. good luck

You sure that is soil? Looks more like three day old Oat meal with Maple Syrup. Better soil would be a very smart move. What are your planning for lights, ventilation, nutrients and such? Do you have a game plan layed out yet? Or just shooting from the hip? A few hints I always tell the new growers.

#1 If you think it needs water, wait a day or two.
#2 If you think it is time for the first feeding, wait a week or so.
#3 What ever the amount of nutrients you think you should feed it, times it by .60-.70

Good luck.

Your seedling looks fine, but definitely take the advice above when you transplant into a larger container. Choosing the right soil is essential for a healthy plant. The roots of a marijuana plant don't like to be kept moist, so proper drainage and aeration of the soil is necessary. Stay away from soils which contain too much clay and add some perlite to your medium to increase the circulation of oxygen throughout the root zone. For better drainage, layer the bottom of your pots with stones, so the soil won't clog the drainage holes. It adds a little weight to your pots, but your plants will appreciate it. I also add sand to my soil mixture as well, to aid in drainage. Mix sand (10%), perlite (20%) and potting soil (70%) and you're golden. Be sure to check the PH balance and nutrient content of the soil you plan to use and stay away from any soil which is clay based and/or contains time-released nutes. Hope this helps. Peace.
