One time, most of the way north on that Seney Stretch, I had to slam my brakes on and I just missed the first deer as it ran across in front of me. The problem is, where there's one there's more (usually) and Next, I had to split-second Gun-It to try to clear deer number two that ended up impacting my rear passenger side quarter panel. Not sure now what I felt worse about the car or the deer. Actually I do remember and I felt horrible!!
I did wonder then if I had not been holding that coffee in my left hand the whole time without spilling... If that would have made a difference, I doubt it but I felt like shit. That is the only deer I've ever hit accidentally. One time I was eye to eye with a large standing (injured) buck, literally a few feet away. That was another, more up close n personal, extreme animal road encounter!
