Do I need a Blower????

need help with configuring what extra hardware i need (if i need it). My setup is a 4.5x4.5x6.5 tent with a 1000w MH and a 400cpm fan for cooling the hood.

From what i read , i should get a blower too because redirecting the air from the hood to circulate in the tent is not a good idea (???). Am i on the right track here?

Considering the cubic feet in the tent, should i go with a 265 cfm blower or a 465/495 blower?

Will either the 465/495 blower give too much air that could dry out the plants?

Right now conditions are really cool between 60 - 65 degrees/50% RH indoors. Which blower should i consider at this temp of air?

thanks

i use a duct boosting fan , 6" for my intake. some use high cfm fans, some just open the flaps on bottom of tent for passive intake.....peace

carbon filter--->Hood--->fan--->outdoors. --> is the flow of air. Get the largest fan your budget allows, you cool the hood and ventilate at the same time.

easyrider - from what you said "fan---> outdoors" can't ventilate. it can cool the hood but how does it ventilate if it's going outdoors?

that passive intake is an interesting idea...since i'm indoors there's no breeze inside the house....would the plants need an exchange of air twice the area of the grow? or should i just use an oscillating fan for circulation?

When I had a tent I had my filter to my hood fan pulling heat out and venting outside the room. Used the flaps at the bottom to alow freash air in and keep tent at a neg pressur.

how did that workout for you Warlock? There's really no draft in my house but i do have window right behind my tent. Should i leave this open? I'm think a draft is necessary other wise, no air is really moving through the tent.

did your grow end up successful without using a fan to move air in the tent?

Worked out fine. As long as your filter is in your tent and your drawing the air from it you will be bring in freash air from the house. In side the tent won't feel like it's moving but it is. Just put a house fan in the tent to move the air around.

Also my filter was mounted up high not to take up room. So air came from the bottom and pulled out the top. Helped with cooling to.

it'd be best to get a bigger fan than you need, and then turn it down with a speed controller. Then if you ever decide to upgrade, you're all set and dont need new equipment.,
