Do I need to kill the plant?

Do I need to harvest the plant and kill it once flowering is complete?

I dont need large ammounts.

Could I keep the plant alive and just trim what ever I need? Will it keep flowering?

I'd like to keep it alive and enjoy the fruit every now and then. When ever the plant is ready.

No because eventually buds can get over ripe and they will leave you with a couch locked stone with little THC. You can re-veg a plant but the yield will be substantially less the second and third time around.

all you have to do is take clones continually. it's a bit of work, but this way, you can always have the mother plant, then just periodically take clones from the mother and flower them. this way, you can just skip the entire vegetative stage. that saves you about 7 or 8 weeks. once you harvest the clones, sure, they'll die, but the mother plant can live on indefinitely, just as long as you keep her in the 18/6 vegging light cycle. taking clones from her is just healthy pruning at this point.

I felt the same way, so I re-vegged my plant. You do this by cutting off what you want and leaving some branches to re-grow and then putting the plant under 20 hour light again. The plant looks completely retarded now.

The good news is that I am 4 out of 4 for taking cuttings - it's a lot easier than I initially thought, and I'm looking forward to killing the old plant for good.

So no, you don't have to kill the plant, but taking cuttings is really easy so why not do it the proper way.

if you flower too long your lady will grow balls and seed herself up. that coupled with THC breakdown is reason enough to off your girl at the appropriate time. you wouldn't want to smoke freshly cut cannabis anyhow....way too harsh. check out the curing section in the growfaq for an idea of what you are looking for.
