You guys can see my progress in my journal. Im just about ready to flip to 12/12. Itll be just under 60 days since sprout. Im using 3gal buckets. My girls are kinda short since i mainlined some. One is pretty tall (20 inches now) the rest are under 10inch.

I popped one out and checked out the root mass. I didnt take a picture since my hands were dirty at the time, but the roots have wrapped about a 1 inch layer around the bottom of the bucket.

I dont want to transplant, but id rather transplant, than have it stress out my girls.

I'd probably transplant if i were you since you vegged for a long time, just to avoid rootbounds

I would transplant, wait a week and then flip. You'll want to give them some legroom during flowering. Between the week wait after xplant and the week or so of transition after should put them in good shape.

I always transplant a week before 12/12. This gives the plants extra space to grow, but more importantly, because I grow organically, I can give the plants fresh soil to take them through to harvest. Most veteran growers recommend the transplant a week before the flip. The plants will go through a week or two of extreme growth and the extra soil will help them. Doing the transplant a week before the flip allows the plants to adjust to the new soil before entering the "stretch".

Good luck.

Transplanted 3 out of 5. I ran out of promix. From 3 gal plastic pots to 5 gal cloth pots.

Ghrim, I totally agree with prosperian. Transplant, then wait a week to flip. You will see some explosive growth (you can buy some cheap dirt like Scott's and transplant the other two right at the flip, and see what kind of difference the container size makes. And then you have a side by side comparison of the difference between transplanting before/right at the flip).

I have 4 clones in flower; all 4 vegged for 2 months, starting in 1 gallon smart pots. 2 of them got transplanted into 7 gallons 2 weeks before flower, the other 2 were transplanted the day of the flip. (same as youyou, ran out of dirt).

The 2 that gptgpt transplanted 1st definitely got bigger--but in the beginning of flflower, the other 2 exploded and caught up (in height). Now the first 2 are definitely bigger, but the other 2 are close and have tighter internodal spacing, and so the colas are filling oout a little better.

IMG_20140101_222626.jpg Here are the 4 white lav clones. You can see how they are the same height, but the ones on the left are a little fuller (especially looking at the 2 in the middle--the 2 big ones are on the left, smaller ones on the right).

IMG_20140101_222719.jpgIMG_20140101_222834.jpgIMG_20140101_222813.jpg Its hard to tell which plants are which, but like I said the 2 that were transplanted first were twice the size of the other two. When they were transplanted tho, the small ones almost caught back up, and have better colas. Those pics were at about 3 weeks in flower. They're @ 4 weeks as of today.

Im running ace of spades, i have 4 plants around 12 inches tall and one at 21 inches. I hope the tall bitch doesnt stretch to much. IDK why shes so damn tall, seed came from the same nug as the rest, she just exploded already. She also was the fist one to show sex.

I generally agree with the rest of the boys, TP then wait 7-10 days to flip lights. However, check your flower set-up to make sure you have all the headroom you need under the flower bulb. You can figure short plants like yours are now will likely stretch to double their veg height. So make sure you have the room before deciding to TP. BigSteve.
