do i need to water more?

Ive got month old plants in 4 gal pots in Roots Organic Soil. my room hangs between 73-79 degrees. it seems like the soil is still moist even after a week. is this normal?? I have lifted the pots and they still feel heavy like they have water in them. let me know if this sounds normal.
thanks

I went out and bought a moisture meter from wal mart. You stick the probe in and it tells you if the soil is too dry, too wet, or just right. Cost me like 5 dollars. Underwatering and overwatering are both bad.

I have done that but it just feels wierd to me to not water for a week. I was using a different soil in the past and had to water every other day. and since i have switched to roots organic it is like once a week. just doenst feel right. curious if this is normal.

How is the drainage of the soil???

going a week in a 4 gallon pot is not unheard of

cheap moisture meters are not the answer

learning what makes a plant work and how to read em is the answer

the bigger the pot the less u have to water, the smaller the pot the faster it drys out. do u have stone laid down on the bottom of the pot ? that helps with nice drainage and help the roots get oxygen

I disagree about the pot size thing because the bigger the pot, the bigger the plant, causing it to dry out just as fast as a smaller pot.

I grow in coco, its the best and is almost idiot proof to water.

If the leaves are dropping south, the plant has been overwatered. If the leaves are starting to point up, they are thirsty.

Too much water ^^^^

Not enough water ^^^^^

Plants don't seem as thirsty in veg state, probably because they do most of thier growing in flower. Ya know?

Thanks alot guys. I do not have stones in the bottom of my pot. I will do that on the next pots. it is just good to know im not doing anything wrong yet.
Thanks,
