do I really need chemical ferts?

Second time grower here. Had one successful crop but just killed off two super lemon haze plants with an overdose of chemical ferts and thinking of going all organic next time with bloodmeal, fish gut water, seaweed tea and a tad of bat guano. Do chemical ferts really make your plants grow any bigger than they would normally using just organic ferts? From my last batch of plants honestly I'm not sure the chemical ferts really made that much of a difference.

maybe bigger certainely a lot cheaper I've never had a problem with them but I feed lightly often so I believe that's how I dodged any problems and none of my stinky strains smelled too bad but still tasted great so I'll probably stick with them.

I only do organic myself ..... However it is true synthetic ferts produce faster growing plants with bigger yields. IMO Not fast or big enough to jusitify the use of them...

well put monkeyfloss

organic produces the most incredible weed IMO
chems just muck up the taste.
If you wanna boost growth you can supplement organic teas and what not for chem ferts. You can still overfeed so ease into it and see how your plants respond

Thanks for the reply. Thats kind of what I thought might be the case. I wasn't having any problems at all until I introduced the chemical stuff to my mix. I have been using pure beef blood I bought from the market and pouring small amounts of it directly on my plants. I mix a bit of rock dust and bat guano with the soil and then add 3 TBS per water can of some really nasty fish gut water and my plants were loving it until I put that damn 16-16-16 fert mix in them. I live in SE where we get alot of rain so I have been able to give them nothing but rain water as well which was working quite lovely.

i use organics as well as feed chemical nutes from a 3" clone to 55" tall plant took me 23 days veg time and now just finished day 32 of flowering from flipping to 12 /12

I'm assuming you go very light on the chem ferts. I thought I was going light on them but obviously not light enough.

I thought they killed your crop?
The first crop I did I didn't use them until a few weeks into flowering (I wasn't sure what to use), and my second crop they killed two of my Super Lemon Haze but my Thai plants survived. Maybe because they are a pure strain and were stronger but I'm not sure.

I've grown both and never could tell the difference. The only real difference is that Jacks Classic is WAY cheaper than a bunch of organic nutrients.

Maybe I just have good soil in my homeland, but due to complications on my first grow I messed up watering and then when I got back on track, I never EVER fertilized my plant and it grew the nicest purest buds.

Proof that you don't need anything other than water an soil. If you can balance those then fertilizers are just perks.
