Do i Really Need the Meters???

i mean could i not just watch the baby girls very closely and do everything gradually?

and not worry about PPM, EC, PH, Temp, Humidity?

which are the MOST important?

again, do you not think i can just watch it and just give it water from day one?

or does my water even need to be balanced?

oh and by the way this is a DWC.

abe, Good day sir.

I have done my share of budget grows, but i will tell you the moment i learned the art of growing with a trimeter, my harvests and quality and confidence was incredibly higher than before.

once you can watch your water and nutes, for a few seasons. You will gain a knowledge base of your general setup. I.E. your water, mixed with your nutes, with your plants, your temps, humidity etc...

Some basics are, if your water has high tds and less water, your plants are thirsty. If your water is low, tds is low, and your ph fluctuated back to normal or near its original range then your plants want water and nutes.

if your humidity in the room was lower than when you added water to your plants and your reservoir level is lower, then your definitely loosing water to humidity. Which will happen cause your plants will do that naturally, but its a gauge on your water levels. If humidity goes up, typicallly your girls are drinking water, or your evaporating water.

Just my 2 cents... Correct me if i am wrong.

I would get a ph meter or the liquid ph testers for aquariums.
I've went my whole grow without a tds, but ph is a need to know.
and temp/humidity is highly important too.
I would say get a ph tester from a pet store like 4 bucks and a
digital humidity/temp gauge at walmart like 5 bucks and you'll be set.

yeah i agree. just worry about your ph temp and humidity

In hydroponics I wouldn't risk growing without an EC meter. Before I got one I was giving my plants more than twice what they needed. Once you get everything dialled in correctly you will see explosive growth rates.

I use organic nutes. Ph meter is essential. I dont have an EC meter, which organics don't exactly translate to, but I think it could help in my case because I don't do rez changes at all, and I think it would be good for making sure EC didn't climb too high. I would say if you decided to go organic, and did periodic rez changes, you probably wont need an EC (ppm) meter. As far as water temps go, if your rez water feels cool, then you're okay; You can either use a cooler, or double wrap your rez in bubblewrap, and you most likely won't have any problems, thus no need for water thermometer.

i grow in soil but everything i've ever read on this subject tells me that by the time the plant shows signs its too late the damage is done so is the grow ,....i would go with what medbudgrower said as well
