Do i Really Need the Meters???

i mean could i not just watch the baby girls very closely and do everything gradually?

and not worry about PPM, EC, PH, Temp, Humidity?

which are the MOST important?

again, do you not think i can just watch it and just give it water from day one?

or does my water even need to be balanced?

oh and by the way this is a DWC.

i personally only keep my eye on temp and humid thats pretty much it and i get nice buds and healthy plants. i just water my plants with rain water and they grow just fine.

I would say you have to have a ph, tds or EC and temperature meter. All that you listed are needed in my opinion. As you know im sure you need the rez temps to be less than say 70 at the highest. Your ph has to be adjusted correctly and the tds or ec will tell you how potent your nutrients are. If you have rez temps to high you will get root rot. If your ph isnt ideal you will have lots of trouble like nute lock out, zero growth etc. Here is how my DWC goes

water-r/o
nutrient recipe-lucas formula. I also add cal mag. because of the r/o. I also use hygrozyme and floralicious plus
Humidity-veg-50-60%
flower-45-50%
room temps-72-75
and rez temps 65-68.

If you are planning on using DWC then meters are essential.

If you were planning on soil i would say you could get away with just room temp and RH gauge for your first grow.

I use coco and on my first grow i just monitored temps and RH and adjusted the ph of my feeding to ph6.
I now use an EC meter ph tester and Temp and RH gauge.

-good question- i have not used any of that stuff & my plany are doing fine & have been for some time now. I did over fed them last week and some leaves turned brown. I cut them, but that was my mistake! I go by what i think is right. Its a plant, i treat it as if i wanna be treated though. Too hot for me in the room then its too hot for the plant. Stick my finger in the soil, if its dry then i water it. I do mist them every day after their done with thier light cycle each day. They love it!

i love that idea of misting them after their light cycle... does everyone else agree this would be fine???

I've read it online somewheres. Think of it like this. If your ass was in the heat(light or sun) wouldnt you want some water sprayed on you to kool you down after??

Try it out man, you want go wrong! NOT BEFORE THE LIGHT CYCLE THOUGH, THAT WILL CAUSE IT TO BURN IF YOU DIDNT KNOW. I'LL POST PICS TOMORROW OF MINE(DURBAN POISON)

BAHHH!!! your killin me smalls! i hope and pray to Christ that these lights don't overheat the area -- especially the reservoir. and thanks for telling me what the EC indicates. yeah i was definitely going to get a ph kit with the liquids to make it go up or down.

how do you like using coco? you do mean the medium correct? instead of rockwool?
yeah the medium

its great !!!

i hand water but i only grow 4 at a time. nothing in my pots just coco.

the plants explode using coco.
if you havent tried it b4 i fully recommend it. once you choose coco you never change .
i have used CANNA pro Plus soil and did not think root development was as good as coco its really airy and very hard to over water using coco .

Deep water culture you can get away with doing all the things that you have put but the plant will not be very good. You are nature when growing indoors you are the sun the rain the wind and the nutrients. You have to give a plant feed if not it will die or just not produce anything so go into this with your eyes open has it is illegal in most countrys and i would not like to think that you got caught with something that will be shyt. Each autum the leave's fall of the trees and through the winter these become a mulsh these are then turned into natural nutrients for the plants. If you don't put nutes into a pot after a certain ammount of time a plant will die or look realy bad.You also need to provide fresh air by putting a fresh air itake into the room wher you are growing. But this is unnesasery if you are growing in your own place under low heat emitting lights but i would have a fan ossalating on the plants this will remove stagnent air and replace with fresh. If you are reciveing a good lighting outdoors then you can just put a plant in the widow but out of view then you will only have to add nutes. But you will have to act has night and put the plant in total black out at some point.BUT TO BE HONEST MATE IT SOUND'S LIKE YOU ARE NOT UP FOR THE INDOOR SEEN GO OUT DOORS FIND A NICE SPOT AND HOPE FOR THE BEST.
