Maybe this has been answered already somewhere. Do Lp's charge and tax on Med purchases or shipping? I'm not meaning on hard supplies. They would of course on those.
I was just wondering about the meds or shipping or any other taxes

Yes Or NO

Thanks and sorry for ignorance

Yes, MMJ is currently taxed. This is from the CMCIA and their policy on the subject:

"Federal Sales Tax (GST, HST, etc.) Applicability to Dried Marihuana Sold Under the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations
Dried marihuana sold under the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) should be zero-rated, similar to other prescribed medications and specifically narcotics. Zero-rating sales of medical marihuana would remove the unfair 13% tax on purchases by patients, increasing the affordability of this necessary medical product, particularly for those with low incomes."

I am sure there are/will be some LP's that absorb the tax or include it in their pricing, but MMJ is currently subject to tax. There are many that are offering free shipping with minimum orders.

Vegetables and Herbs are not to be taxed.. Neither are seeds.
Health Canada was charging tax on seeds they were selling during the MMAR.
If you buy any seeds anywhere for growing or eating there is no tax.
If Health Canada refuses to recognise that Marijuana is a medicine then it must be an herb.
There are no taxes on herbs. Hence no taxes on Marijuana.
Food for thought.

Well I agree. I'm not sure if the pharm taxes a prescription or not. I think they do not tax a script, but i could be wrong. so shouldn't this be treated like that.
I know that tax is charged on all over the counter med you get from Tylenol to toothpaste..all taxed

If it was processed as an extract then it becomes something other than dried herb. Dried Marijuana as Health Canada says is not a recognised medicine. Hence it cannot be taxed as a medicine. We can recognise that it is an herb and herbs are not taxed.
