I thought most HIDs used glass that blocked uvb? I was planning in running a couple of T5's if I can find 4' ones.I took a couple plants out from under a 1000 watt hps and finished them the last 2 weeks under a 400 c.m.h. The color change was awesome and everybody raved about the bud. FWIW.
the glass from reflectors is what blocks the uv rays, I use a open hood. Probably not a lot of uv output, but I think just using a blue spectrum closer to uv may be helping.I thought most HIDs used glass that blocked uvb? I was planning in running a couple of T5's if I can find 4' ones.
i know i need a reptile one there uvb, black lights are uva ,ill have to buy a new oneNot sure if thats strong enough to much. Have you looked at reptile bulbs?
better yet, get one HPS and one super blue MH bulb, that'll put out waaay more lumens than the reptile light, plus you get the added benefit of the blue spectrum as well as the UVi know i need a reptile one there uvb, black lights are uva ,ill have to buy a new one
haha ..fuck...who is this guy.lolUVB rays are responsible for causing most skin cancers. While large doses of UVA rays can contribute to cancer, it's the UVB rays that are commonly to blame.
If you've heard the advice to stay out of the sun though the mid day hours, it's the UVB rays you're trying to avoid. They are most prevalent mid day, so if you must be out at that time, protect your skin.,,,,,,i got this on a site,,it looks like its the uvb rays that are dangerous and that's what the plant is trying to defend its self from? i hope ,, keep digging boys,, our lifes are at steak!
seriously.....who is this guy ...hasorry about the penis insult, i thought youd read the thread wrong, it turned out id read your post wrong, opps ,
whos the penis nose now, , didn't you watch the youtube vid about how uv works on the tricholms, it makes sense and alot of people do it without knowing with mh lamps? Adding uva light is just like a light booster, i suppose if you want to understand it you'll have to work out what role uv light from the sun plays on earth, we know what the other colours do, and uv is there for a reason, reptiles need it for some reason, but humans don't need it so we get a tan in defence, not only to be able to tell if a chicks been wearing a thong! There's a reason its there ,,, hopefully to get me more stoned, but ill settle for the thong detector?
he says dont run it more then a few hours mid light cycle in flower stage, as far as some of the dankest buds I have seen they all have uvb on them. way more crystals.great video, but i have one gripe, if u run a uvb light 24/7 your plants will hermi nearly 100% of the time i think he must be misinform about that part. Flowering plants need their darkness. But i have heard of people getting great results running them for like 3 hrs every time the HPS runs.
