Do these look healthy for them being 16 days old

I was just wondering if these look ok for 16 days old.

I dont know the strain. It was just a couple of seeds that i found in a bag that i bought. These two plants are just to get my first grow under my belt. The funny thing is that these two plants have been grown under just 3 small CFL bulbs. I will be getting a 400watt HPS light soon. I want to let them go another week or so and them switch the lights to 12/12 to sex them. I am not really to worried about them because i will be getting some clones that are ready to start flowering as soon as i get them. I will be shooting for atleast 6 plants all together. Does anyone know which one out of these three strains would be the best yeilding. AK-47, Northern Lights, or Afghani. I can get all three of them but want the one that will give me the best yeild the fastest. The good thing is that i wont have to veg anymore because the clones that i can get are already about 12 to 14 inches tall so i can get them and put them strait to 12/12 lighting. I get them for 15$ each. And i will be able to get them in a couple weeks so by that time these two that i am growing will be ready for the flowering if they are female. My closet is only 19x30x48tall. So i hope that i can get 6 plants in there with a 400watt HPS light. I just want to be able to grow for myself, not to sale. I just want to have weed all year long. I hate to buy the stuff for 400$ an ounce, but that is what the stuff is getting around here. Hell last year i was getting 70$ an eigth for the AK-47, Northern Lights and Afghani.

I also have to get some mylar for my grow room because right now it is lined with foil. I know that is not the best, but it is in a part of my house that is not finished on the inside so i dont want to have to put drywall on the inside and paint it so i will just put the mylar on the walls and floor. When i have it closed up you cant tell that there is anything in there. It is totally stealth. I am going to put a small fan in there and an exhaust fan to vent the stale air out. I actually have 2 more spots in my house just like this one so i guess i coule get all 3 strains and get a total of 3 hps lights and just grow them seperate in their own room. I could probably get the yeild that i am looking for if i was to do that. But i will probably be happy enough with 6 plants every 2 months.

The plant in the middle pic was grown under two 13watt cfl's and the one in the last pic was grown under a 15watt cfl. I have kept the lights at about 1 to 2 inches from the top of the plants. I am going to keep them like this for about another week or two and then go to High Tech Garden supplies and pick up one of their 400watt HPS lights for like 119$. I wonder how much bigger the last one would have been under 2 of the 15watt cfl's. It looks better than the other.

now that you see what you can do with cheap cfl's, imagine what you will be able to do with bigger/better lights. i stll use cfl's to veg.

ya its amazing what better lighting will do...
And yep, those CFL's can come in handy for vegging or even to add light to the bottoms of your flowering plants.

I will keep these little lights for vegging, I like how well they do for just a couple plants. I checked them this morning and they grew about 1/2 inch lastnight alone. I am going to have to get about 4 or 5 more pretty soon because these are growing so fast. I am getting my timer for lights tomorrow and a few other things that i need. I will post more pics in a couple days. I just hope that one of them is a female or it would be for nothin. Maybe not because i have learned alot in the past 2 or 3 weeks on here and from takin care of these two. Thanks

Here they are at 3 weeks and 1 day old. I topped them on the 19th and one is already starting to start 2 more topps. They have grown alot this past week and they are still under the 3 cfls for 24 hour lighting. I am going to let them veg another couple weeks before flowering. I will start to trane them soon. I want them to get bushy and not too tall. How do you think they are doing for them being 22 days old. I am just now starting to give them some nutes that i got off of a friend. I am only giving them a little every other watering. I also named them Cagney and Lacy hoping that they will be female. I also have a couple pc fans and 2 pc power supplies and i will use them for vent and exhaust. Does anyone know if i can run both fans off of just one of the power supply's or do i have to use both? Watching both of these plants threw sofar is almost as enjoyable as smoking the bud. I wish i would have done this 2 years ago when i got this little house done. I love this stuff.

I use a 400 watt and 150 watt MH for veg and flowering. It works great, but a buddy of mine has seen better results with a 400 watt metal hallide for veg and 400 watt hps for flowering, since high pressure sodium tends to be stronger in the red spectrum. I ALWAYS use cfl's for seedlings. They are incredibly efficient. You're plants are strong, healthy, and have near perfect symmetry. Just be sure to let us know how they smoke on the other end!

I will definitely keep you posted. I will be upping the number of lights from 3 to 12 in a couple days and keep them under those for at least 2 more weeks and then hopefully have an hps light by then. I may just go ahead and flower them under twelve cfls if it comes to that. I am just curious about growing them now. I don't know why i did not try this years ago. I will post pics every week to show how they are doin.

hey there guy. plants look healthy. i'm not sure if you had just watered them before those pics, but you could ease up on the h2o for a minute or two. you know you have it perfect when the leaves bow up slighty from the petioles and the whole branch looks like it is standing tall reaching for the light.

i've never smoked northern lights before, but i do know that ak-47 was breed with afghani genetics. you REALLY want to get that ak-47. it's powerful stuff...blows everything else away.

save the money you would spend on the cfls and get you a serious light....a 400w hps magnetic ballast and a ceramic metal halide bulb.

looks good, sounds good. but that space is a little small, might want to try and get it alittle bigger, or just taller, the light is going to take up 6 inches, than you only have a foot an a half, rule of thumb, plants get 2 times there size from put into 12/12 till harves... does that read properly? I'm baked

I know that 400$ is a high price but around here you either pay for the good stuff or settle for the dirt weed. I like the Afghani myself because the trimmings make really good hash. But when i get my clones, it will probably be 3 AK-47 and 3 Afghani. I wish i knew what kind these two plants are but they came from some really good bag weed. You are right about me just watering the plants. I only water them when they need it, about every 2 and 1/2 to 3 days. I will probably just keep using the cfls on this grow and sale one plant to get enough money for a hps light. I am not working at the moment and am kinda strapped for cash right now. I went to see the person that i am getting my clones from and i could not believe that they had 12 mother plants. I cant wait to get the clones of the good stuff and have the needed light for them. I will need to practise cloning some time in the near future so i can just keep up a steady grow. I would be happy to get 2 plants a month for myself. But if i can get it down to getting more than that that would be just great. Hey i have a quick question for any of you. Would it be a good idea to trimm the bottom fan leaves off or not worry about it. The only reason i ask is because i want these plants to bushout and maybe trane them for a scrog grow. I want to get the most out of these two plants that i can. Here is a couple more pics that i would like you to take a look at and tell me if they would benefit from a couple leaves taken off.

The little room is like 46 inches high and the plants are only like 6 inches tall right now. I think i have enough height for the plants to get about 2 feet tall. So i can probably let them veg for another 2 weeks at the most before i should flower them.
