I think the attacks on pearl harbour and attacks on 9/11 are completely different. I maybe wrong, but from what I know about Pearl harbour, they belived an attack may of come but they had no idea where, and when. They also didnt know where the japanese fleet was, also the radar operators did spot incoming contacts, but they belived them to be a freindly patrol, and then sea birds. Anyway thats a different thing.
The Japanese fleet was large but wasnt the entire navy,,it did have all of the aircraft carriers currently in service with the japanese navy(dont forget the midget subs). 6 if i remeber right, the other thing is that it was only the naval targets that where attacked, power station, shipyard, maintenance, and fuel and torpedo storage facilities, as well as the submarine piers and headquarters building were not attacked the purpose being to leave the Japanese Navy free roam of the pacfic, The MAIN reason it was never thought that the attack could come was because of negotiations still going on with the Japanese, they were saying that they had no intentions to go to war with the USA, how they want trade, freindship etc,,,,,
SORRY, for the thread jack.
Also,,,,,argue with me if you like,, the war in Iraq was never against terroism, it was for middle east stablity, fair enough there werent any WMD'S ,but 62% of usa people polled said terrorism threats would increase with war in Iraq.?? so that war wasnt against terror at all, so there for it has f all to do with 9/11. At no point was the war in Iraq against al-queada, or other terrorist cell.(the insugancy did become a war against terror because for them the western-ers were invading them etc. but that different.)if you get what i mean.
