I just do that when i switch to 12/12, but no one really knows diff between 24/0 and 18/6, they are very similar.when would you switch to 18/6 if you started with 24/0?

I agree that they need a dark period, but how a plant determines how and when to disperse the energy gathered from photosynthesis under 24/0 i would very much like to knowThere is a difference between 18 hr lighting and 24 hr lighting. Photosynthesis needs a period of darkness. It is during the dark period that the plant uses all the stored energy from the light.
i would like to know the same mate! Have looked into it. But cannot find the answer! Plants appear perfectly healthy under 24 hr light so dunno mate.I agree that they need a dark period, but how a plant determines how and when to disperse the energy gathered from photosynthesis under 24/0 i would very much like to know
doing 0/24 will trigger flowering response, and if you keep doing 24/0-0/24 every day i think it just kills the plants. switching from 24/0 to 18/6 doesnt change anything, both will be fine.so if you do a day of 24/0 what would happen if you did a day of 0/24 after that? saying you have been on the 24/0 for awhile and it not being the switch for flower. I ask cuz i know the plants need the dark period. so i was wondering if you had given them all this energy with the 24/0, if the longer dark period might let more of it be released (kinda like stretching out its process to the max if that makes sense)? I dont know too much about plants, some of you are pretty well knowledged in this area so i ask if anyone thinks it might be sumthin to try or if it would just hurt the plant more. I would experiment but this isnt the grow to do it with lol.
Also ive had one plant (ppp) going for bout 1 1/2 weeks longer than another (SLH) but both using the same light sources, if i switch to 18/6 with them since im doing 24/0 now, what plant is going to benefit or suffer do u think?
thanks dudes!
there is no difference between 18/6 and 24/0. The reason its debated so much is there is no clear benefit for the plants, if there was it wouldn't be up for debate. I know for myself, power is not free, so I 18/6 from seed until flowering.
completelly wrong.
LUDA.
and this is why.............I Agree.............
dont use your light to heat the room. What dyu think about 24/0 for auto's to get them through winter temps, otherwise wont I just have to buy a space heater and plug in thermo- same difference?
