I posted a thread on this subject 'bout a month ago. Heh. Yeah, I believe... but that's through my personal experiences. I'll copy/paste them for your reading pleasure!

Basically, on a nightly basis... I could hear something going up and down the stairs. There's a little more to it than that, though. When the sounds of the creaking stairs would reach the top... I could hear breathing. Heavy breathing. And I'd hear a few creaks of the floor coming toward my room... the breathing getting louder... then fading away... and then the sound of something going down the stairs. Sometimes this would happen once a night, sometimes it'd happen continuously.

I thought I was being paranoid ... but then my brother mentioned to me that he'd heard it too. His room was right next to mine... and he was laying awake at night hearing the same shit I was. The stairwell was always ice cold... and my brother said he'd seen a black mass lurking on the landing several times. I never saw anything like it, though.

Other odd things would happen around the house too. I often felt like there was something watching me when I was in the kitchen... a 'heavy' sort of presence that seemed to lurk just behind me. In our cupboards, there were lots of plastic hooks to hang coffee cups on... but for some reason, they'd never stay on the hooks. I'd hang them all up and within an hour they would have 'fallen' off. The thing is, you have to physically lift them UP in order to get them off of the hooks... there was no way they were just sliding off.

That stuff really scared me at the time, but now that I think back on it... there really wasn't a reason for me to be scared. Never once did... whatever the fuck was there... bother me physically. It just seemed to be going about its business.

I think that way now because one of my closest friends is dealing with something REALLY scary in his house. It's unlike anything I ever experienced (or even heard of) before. I noticed it years ago... but was too afraid to say anything about it lest people think I'm even more crazy than I actually am. Recently I discovered that everyone that frequents the house (and there are a lot of us) has experienced SOMETHING weird... and not all of it is benign.

Try not to show fear. Entities like that can sense it... and some capitalize on it.
see thats the thing that makes me question ghosts. cuz when you're scared your mind tends to play more games on you, you know?

i think it's kind of like seeing aliens. (which i believe in) 95% of sightings r explainable.( being a plane or weather balloon.)

I do believe it was a government thing. I didn't live all that far away from an air force base and it wasn't uncommon to see strange contrails or strange planes in the sky. But what I saw wasn't a plane by any standard. Ohhh no. And I wasn't the only one who saw it, either. Hundreds of people reported it. The government gave us the standard 'it was a weather balloon' story the next day. Yeah, how does a weather balloon blink out of one part of the sky and instantly appear in another region of the sky? It was laughable, to be sure. I'm trying to see if there's anything written about it online... it was quite a few years ago, 1996 or 1997, but since it was such a mass sighting there might be stuff about it. Video of whatever it was made it onto the Big City News, and that was a big deal. I lived in Alberta, Canada at the time...

Like what ? When i used to live in my grandmas house it sounded like there was someone in the cieling but nooobody believed they would say it waz the water heater but what water heater sounded like someone waz clawing the cieling and everytime someone would come in it would go away oooo it pissed me off so much
the first time happened in the middle of the night while i was sleeping. I woke up and the desk that used to be next to my bed was shaking a whole lot. the books in the shelves of the desk were falling out as well. then I told my friend about this about a week later and then the speakers of my computer started bugging out and a picture n my wall flew off the wall. the most recent thing that has happened was a voice I heard coming from my closet kinda. it freaked me the fuck out.

Nope.

I'm not superstitious.
1. believing in superstitions: convinced that performing or not performing specific actions brings good or bad luck, that some events or phenomena are omens, and, generally, fearfully believing in a supernatural dimension to events

2. based on irrational belief: based on a false or irrational belief in, or fear of, the supernatural

When you see Spirits/Ghost in person the fear is not irrational. LOL :peace:

I'm with teatreeoil on this one. . .

I honestly don't understand how so many of you can honestly believe in them. each to his own I suppose. I've been to many creepy/supposedly haunted places . . .

nothing other than my own subconscious trying to induce fear in me.

There are many documented cases of mass delusion. So nothing really surprises me. Most magic shows are a testament to how easy this is.

People see what they want to see, devil faces in 9/11 smoke, Jesus on a piece of toast, Internet porn, and unicorns. It's all good.
