Do you keep or remove unhappy leaves caused by deficiencies?

I was just wondering, the plant cannibalises those leaves for nutrients. So isn't it better to leave them until the plant is done using them? Like as a buffer? To protect the top half of your plant?

Or is there a benefit to removing leaves which you know will die eventually?

I don’t pull the lower leaves until they are mostly yellow, but before they start to dry. When I flip to flower I take out all of the lower branches that will never make it to the canopy, but leave the fans until they yellow. It opens up the middle for airflow but retains many of the fan leaves. By the time the canopy colas are fattening up the lower leaves have yellowed and are plucked looking like a full lollipop, and if everything went well the canopy looks great. I’ve found it works for me, at least so far, but I tend to let the plants veg long with lots of lst and scrog.

If the leaves that are withering don't block the light going to a bud site, I leave them and let nature follow it's course.
When the are truly done, they will drop on their own.
