If you have puritanical views and insist that babies come from a stork from god, and that nobody partakes in premarital sex; than maybe the t.v. isn't the right device to have in your home.

Even kids movies by Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks have ADULT humor. Dirty jokes that kids dont even understand. Literally over their head. I guess they should take those jokes out too...

yeah, because the movie, is directed towards children.. not me.. if I wanna wtach a movie, fuckin shrek isn't gonna be the one I pick.. so why are you cracking jokes meant for me? when I buy it on DVD, do you think i'm still gonna watch it?

and you dont have to have

To not want to expose my child to the kinds of things that are on T.V.. I mean jesus titty fuckin christ dude, I think if you'll slam that door alittle harder you could be alittle more closed minded, ya think?

If you dont want to expose them to what is on t.v. - then don't expose them to t.v.'s period. It is really that simple.

I am close minded because I am NOT advocating censorship on a device that you choose to purchase and have in your home - with no promise of wholsome programming, plugged in, turned on, tuned to a station; and you are able to make another choice easily either by changing the channel or turning the box off??? They have v-chips and all sorts of parental controls to limit what and when a tv can be used. You can even pre-record and screen it with VHS / DVR before you play it for your kid. If a channel does anything offensive you can block it forever. Not only will you not show the offensive content but you also are not supporting ANY of their advertisers (which is what counts to them). You can even download shows commercial free for free now!!! You can watch movies or educational videos. There is really no excuse for parental lazyness these days (which is something that I am not that open-minded to).

again, what am I to do when they go to school, or to a friends house? Have you not been paying attention.. open your mind.. atleast try to keep up..

just because I do what I do at home, doesnt mean when I send them to say, my sister's house, or a friends house to stay the night, or just to play.. that they're not gonna say "oh your dad's just a stick in the mud.. don;t tell him I let y'all wtach T.V and it'll be ok.."

That tecahes them that A, what i'm trying to do that is best for them, in my opinion, is wrong, and it teaches them to lie.. hell yeah dude, thats a solution we can all live with, why arent you runing this country?

Oddly enough, I've only ever seen the BK ad during adult programming. I don't mean 'adult' as in porno, I mean as in.... on the History channel after 10pm, or during [adult swim]. I haven't seen it during children's programming at all... so the target audience of that commercial are adults to begin with. I think.

And it bothers you that much? I'll admit, I can see where one might find that ad a little over the top. I also wouldn't want young children to see it. But... it cleared S&P... I wonder how that happened?

I am being very civil with you - I would appreciate that to be recriprocated.

You are throwing all sorts of red-herrings. If they are watching commercials at school that would be the responsibility of the teacher. If they go to a friends house then that is their responsibility. If you cant trust your kids friends parents with basic decisions then your child should in all likeliness not be hanging out at their home.

Again if you cant trust your friends and family to respect your wishes then maybe you should not entrust them with your childs welfare. Point blank - if they are letting them watch tv content that they know that you would find objectionable then what is stopping them from showing rated R movies, showing porn, letting them drink, smoke?

If my kid had a question of why I did something a certain way I would open up a dialog and explain exactly why I felt that way. If you are making decisions out of love and the best interest of your children it should be easy to do. I would never put my kid in the position that they would feel like they had to lie to me especially when it has to do with curiosity and exploration. I want them to come to me and getting the information they need instead of getting some bullshit from their knucklehead friends. It is a great opportunity to say what did you see and what did you think about it? You may find out that it re-enforced what you do because tv is boring compared to the media / time you share with your children. I know kids that wont even watch tv - they have no interest in it - the read books, play board games, play with each other, video games, movies. They literally wont watch tv if it is on. That is because their non-lazy parents spend a lot of time with them and they find tv to be boring compared to the alternatives.

This country is not ready for my message of love, truth, and personal responsibility.

I think burger king is being slippery as hell with that commercial. It borderlines.....I have no analogy. That is sleazy marketing.
