Do you leave plants in 24 hour darkness before cropping

Once I am ready to crop my plants, should I leave them in 24 hour darkness first and crop at the end of that dark cycle?

it's probably subjective, on the flip side ive wondered what would happen if you ran the light 24/7 the final two days, to cause the plant to pack on more sticky sun block.

Ive tried it with a couple different strains. I cant see any noticeable difference. I think its malarky, unless Im missing something.

Idk, but what I read was it stresses the plant . Is this good or bad , idk.
I think it's both, brings out terps mmmm maybe . I've done it when I was trying to harvest, and ran out of time, so I just left the lights off ,and continued the next day, didn't notice any difference though.

Shit this was no help at all, sorry.

I could crop it during light or dark cycle then?
They stink more at the end of the light cycle. And an old vet friend always chopped his outdoor grow after about 6hours of darkness. I figured it was when the bar closed lol 2 am.

Edit: I meant lights out cycle . I Some how messed a word .

I suggest 24-48 hours continuous light instead of dark. You'll get more weight. I never found a benefit from 24 or more hours of darkness but the extra light gave me a considerable boost in weight and I think also in potency. Also, reptile UV lights for the last 3 days plus the 24-48 hours seemed to help.

I have ran almost every theory I've ever read with side by side comparisons and there is no magic time frame or benefit from extra dark. if anything when you leave them in the dark for a few days they end up getting much more saturated because their not transpirating as much in the dark, and you can also end up with mold that way. The thought process behind chop time in relation to light cycle is that some folks who use salt based fertilizers like to chop before the lights come on because the plant hasn't taken any of the nutrients out of the soil. they deposit all that back in the soil overnight. you can actually see your plants start to almost droop right before lights go off every night that's what they're doing is flushing themselves back in the soil. I personally cut my plants in the light because it's easier to see. Lol.

lol your weight and potency does not change because you gave it an extra day of light.

You were there, were you? Or are you just psychic? 48 hours continuous equals 4 days of 12/12. So you don't think 4 days growth adds any weight?
48 hours, on top of 12/12 already? No. 24-48 hours of light = 12-24 hours more light than you would have originally gave it.

That does jack shit to potency or weight... you really need to think about shit before you type it. These myths need to die.
