Just a quick question. Can you clone plants with out using the hydroponic method?
Do you need hydroponics for cloning?

Cut the branch at a 45 degree angle.
Dip it in a rooting gel or powder.
Stick it in some peat moss/soil/perlite/whatever.

cut, dip, plant, press soil against stem, put under humidity dome...easy as pie

well I suppose I can elaborate a bit...
Cut stems off plant...stick in cup of water...
Take stems out of cup of water, trim all the leaves off the stem except for the top node or two(depending on how the clone looks)
scrape about 1.5" of the bottom of the outside of the stem, cut off the bottom about .5" up at a 45-60degree angle
If using powder cloning hormone, dip in water, dip in powder, if using a gel just dip it in the gel
stick cutting into soil about 1.5" down total, press the soil up against the sides of the stem.
Keep in a warm place with CFL's above a humidity dome...check for roots after a week+, but depending on when you take your cuttings, it might take 3+ weeks at times to make roots
