Do you pull the dying fan leaves on autos(outdoors IL)

I say this because we have been getting a lot of rain and the fan leaves tend to rot before they completely fall off on their own. I've gotten into the habit of testing them and if they just pop off I take them off. Is that bad? Is this a bad habit? Mostly I was just trying to prevent any fungus from forming when they are turning yellow and prepping to fall off on their own, because a few of them have turned brown and then grey tips like fungus before they even naturally fall off.20200923_132202.jpg

i dont. The plant is using up the nutrients in those leaves, turning them yellow. i only pull brown, dried leaves.

If you are touching them and they fall off thats not a big deal.

Nor is a bit of pruning tbh.

Once its established if I need to I can pull off 3 good green leaves with no negative effect. I do it to open light to bud sites.

Yes these are ones where you just barely push down on it and it "pop", right off. I'm not pulling ones that are still stuck. That makes sense though about the nutrients!
