Do you smoke with your adult kids?

I do with three of my sons, my daughters I do not since they love to lecture. I'm to old to listen to that nonsense.

I don't with my grandchildren, but have no issue with them doing so.

My kids both know that I highly disapprove of drinking alcohol except for moderate social drinking. I'm sure most of us have lost loved ones due to some idiot driving drunk.

Thats the way I looked at it, I would rather my kids smoke pot than binge drink.

I can't think of a single case of where a kid smoked to much pot and wound up in the emergency room. I can't say the same for alcohol.

My ex lost a best friend do to alcohol, she was depressed and an alcoholic, drove off the highway one night. It wasn't like someone got drunk and killed her(sober)...but either way alcohol isn't good. I don't think i know any whose lives benefit from drinking alcohol. BUT then there's my bro who brews his own beer...but he's totally done partying and getting smashed and has been ever since he kicked in an old car window and dropped his calf right onto a huge shard that didn't bust out...didn't go to the doctor, got super infected, lied to me when i was a kid and said he fell out of a tree retrieving a folf disc and i just found out the truth a yr ago haha.
Anyways i agree alcohol is fine in small quantity once in a while but it should not be a staple in life. If i learn that my kids(when i have kids) are getting into a lot of drinking all i can do is tell them what i just said, and know that there's still a pretty good chance my kids are going to get hammered a few times or more but i hope they don't drive, i would rather get a call at 3am from my kid at his friends house wanting a ride, than a call from the sheriff telling me my kid was just killed in any sort of drunk driving accident. And i'm sure most of you have thought the same thing or preach the same thing.

It hit me today that my girlfriend and i don't plan on having kids until we are close to 30yo or so and only 2max...and the thought of smoking with my future son/daughter 25YEARS from now!...holy crap it'll prolly be legal in a ton of states and he probably won't get to experience marijuana as much as a luxury as i have had to...due to lack of steady dank source...but now i am my own source.
I am just very curious what things are going to be like 25yrs from now...

I mentioned the dentist because it just happened to pop into my head lol i like being a little random.
I fly high and listen to Ozzy every morning ...usually some Megadeth and Iron Maiden also. I love all sorts of music but i never choose to listen to rap or country. I've been through phases of music while playing guitar and for the last 4 yrs i've been stuck on heavy metal/rock n roll/funk rock. My longest spree of being obsessed with a single band was pretty much all of high school trying to be Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme...i haven't played in a long time sadly

I have two beautiful electrics and a 100w Marshall sitting in storage and haven't played in two years. That hurts!!

i just started playing last year in january of 2012, not this january past but the one before that, i really love it, its a great time passer and even more of a reward type thing for me, i was addicted pretty heavily to drugs (opiates) and to me playing guitar sort of helps in the sense that when your clean its very hard for your brain to release the right chemicals that light up the rewards pathways in my brain, by playing guitar i was literally able to circumvent drug usage by being accomplished at the acoustic, sometimes the reward to me was so emotionally valuable that i would literally feel a buzz, its hard to explain....but i love it, i had a cheap ibanez acoustic i bought when i started playing for 150 bucks, it was anice guitar but my little boy was playing around one day and he knocked it over and son of a bitchin thing the neck broke on it, like cracked where the guitar and neck meet so now it basically wont hold a tune, im sure its fixable with some effort, glue and a luthier but i ended up just trading my buddy for some bud for like a 80 dollar cheap TAKAMINE guitar, some jap or chinese guitar, i mean its good to learn on and sounds nice but i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a taylor or a martin or even a gibson or fender, although im not sure gibson even makes acoustic, im sure they do but, oh well, i figure until i get good a cheap guitar it is, but my dream literally would be to have a beautful D-28 Martin mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i would sleep with it <3 marry me martin acoustic..

Gibson makes some awesome acoustics! I had a nice Taylor but sold it; I'm just not an acoustic kinda guy. My amp goes to 11. The best acoustic I've ever played was an Alvarez "Ash Festival" that I bought. It had a brass nut and saddle so the tone was very bright but not "tinny". Most dreadnaughts sound muddy so I loved the brightness of the tone. I had to sell it due to hard times but that was a mistake. I know what you mean about the reward pathways in your brain; playing does something powerful to a person. ...especially if the amp is turned up to 11.

That maybe why I can't hardly hear outta my left ear! My wife tells me I can't hear shit!! I play myself (electric) and I use to crank it up back in the day, me & two other guys I played with! We would either toke up, take a trip, or whatever, and play our asses off!! Gotta love some black sabbath!! Haha.. iron man...

I've smoked with my parents several times... always up at the cottage in the summer, for some reason. I just remember being at my mom's 40th bday party when I was younger, and seeing a photo of her smoking a joint. For years she claimed it was a cigarette even though we all knew better. I think that was when I realized my parents would probably be cool with it. And, well, she admits it now... hell, she's usually the one asking me if I brought pot.

I got my parents to smoke with me when I was in highschool. But the won't do it anymore. I think something to do with "that shit is too strong".

Ha! Thats what my dad said. He would drink and I could get anything I wanted out of him. I love my dad... he is very cool but low tolerance. My step mom is always in the bed with migraines and pills are very expensive. Recently my dad asked me if I could hook him up for her but he never followed through with it. Oh well, she is really bad off though and I wonder if it would help her. Well hell... I know it would He knows I smoke daily

Hello. Seen where your mother suffers from bad headaches!! Sorry 2 hear that bro.. I know they SUCK!!
As for a strain that will help her. Most Indicas helps with tension,headaches,etc'.
Although some strains will help with migraines, some more so than others. leafly.com is a good website for strain info. I sure hope that helps you out bro..

Hello Dankster. Thank you for your comment and I don't know if my dad would ever get my step mom weed, but I wish he would so I could see if it works for her. Thanks for the website too bro. Thanks for sharing your heart warming story about your dad. I bet he was a very special person to you. I had someone in my life like that until I was 13 and she died of old age. So I know how it feels to lose someone you really care about when your young. You will see him again one day.

I started drinking when I was 8 years old, I was with my mother when this happened and I was completely against marijuana. I always told everybody "why would you smoke weed and do permanent damage to your brain and are breaking the law, when you could drink and get way more fucked up with no damage" I remember seeing my brother smoke weed outside from a second story window and I started crying thinking he was going to be a loser. This is what pisses me off when I hear people talking shit about pot, because I know their mentality which is that of an 8 year old alcoholic. When I learned that I was wrong I made a point to fight for weed and to learn everything there is to learn about drugs. I still drink on the weekends and smoke cigarettes and good ol' reefer every once in a while. Anyways, I'm rambling lol. I've been up for like 24 hours. Moral of the story I smoked with my mother when I was 12 and father when I was 15 with all my friends. And we weren't some trailer trash or anything, we were actually quite wealthy.
