do you think i let this hybrid go too long?

I almost set this up as a poll, lol. Anyways, this plant's gone 10 1/2 weeks (11 weeks on Saturday) and even tho most of the bag seeds I ran were indicas, this one was definitely a hybrid (and probably mostly sativa based off of how much she stretched in flower) and so naturally, its taken her a lot longer to finish than the others. She's the only plant left from my first grow that I haven't chopped yet *wiping a single happy tear*, and I think its time.

She had some pH problems in the beginning of flower that stunted her a little--not quite as bad as the others. And her calyxes finally swelled out a little, and she's frosty but not like my other plants. The trichs looked formed, but the "stalks" of the trichs aren't quite as long, its like they're stubby lol. Sorry my trich shots are under an hps, but they were taken through my jewelers eye at 10x.

Lemme know what you guys think. Sorry for posting another one of "those" threads but this plant has been a hard read for me. She started giving up her fan leaves a while back, couple weeks I guess and is starting to suck the green from the guard leaves/sugar leaves as well. Thanks for any input

nope, and she's still no where really ready imo.. a good few weeks or so imvho..
i still see tons of white pistils that haven't receded yet, which tells me she's still not quite ready..

looking good though, just be patient, it's so worth it.. :D

Yea he is right, Let them got for a couple of weeks. The bud formation is not even lookin right yet. Lots of swell but you still have wks.

I agree with racerboy, still see some white pistle, you should let it go longer, like he said, be well worth the wait.

Yeah, she still has a lot of white pistils but I dunno, her leaves have been really really slowly losing their color and dying at the tips, and im afraid if I wait much longer it will reach the buds and start to dry them out. It happened with another one of my plants that was a very, very fast finisher.

I had some problems with mold in the soil that I noticed about 4-5 weeks ago. I treated with antifungal and hydrogen peroxide and other than having a little pm on the outside of my smart pots now and then it didn't hurt them much at first, but after dealing with slightly high moisture levels for so long now I think it is playing a role with the leaves dying like that.

Also, fwiw I just realized the website resizes pictures-the ones I took are much clearer when you zoom in than they are after I posted them. But there are many receded pistils, mostly towards the bottom (probably like 15% of them are white) and towards the top its like 60/40 white to orange pistils.

Thanks for the input!

I would have to agree with everyone else. I don't think it's done. Once you see the hairs turning brown, then it's getting there but until then I don't think so. Take a look at trichs, they say everything. Stress etc, sets the plants back almost like transplant shock thus resulting in the plants needing longer to finish.

Okay, well it seems like there's a pretty common consensus that they need more time. Judging by the way it looked when the others were finishing, I was thinking it would need until the end of the month at least, which I guess was right. But the calyxes swelled up out of nowhere about a week or so ago, and I'm afraid that if the leaves keep dying that the buds might wind up with crunchy dead leaf inside of them.

And again, there are a lot of white pistils on the top buds but the calyxes look really swollen if you lift the guard leaves and look at them.

But, I'm starting to talk myself into agreeing with you guys. They probably need at least 10 days, which sucks BC I have court next Friday and it might not go so well :(

If it looks like you maybe having a stay away, I would chop, hang & dry now to be able to reap some benefit from what you sowed.... Or take the risk of having none if the the court isn't being nice..?? Just my two pennies... Something is more preferable to nothing IMHO....!!!

Well, I'm thinking you have at least 2 weeks. The buds look great and you have that nice "finishing up" fade going. But the pistils haven't started receding back to the bud. This happens more on some strains than on others, so a trichome check is best, but in the absence of that I'd go by the look of the pistils.

So now to your court date. How long do you think you'll be gone for if it doesn't go well? If it's just a few days or a week or two, then I'd water the plant well before you go. And that's it. She'll finish off that water and then start to very slowly dry out. She'll continue to ripen as she does it. When you're back, you will have a slow-dried plant still in the pot. It will be more of a pain to trim at that point, but that's really not that big of a deal.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies guys. And yeah, as far as court goes I have a really strong case. I was leaving private property (fenced off with a gate) and a cop blocked me off at the gate BC I was a "suspicious looking vehicle". He wouldn't move so I started backing up and barely tapped a pole that was behind my truck. There's a law that says cops aren't allowed to even keep you from traveling freely unless they have probable cause.

The cop is arguing that the arrest was legal, and that his probable cause was me getting into an accident. I'm arguing that the only reason I hit the pole (which left no property damage except for a yellow spot of paint on my car) was BC the cop was blocking me. Otherwise I would've never pulled up to the gate, and then tried backing right through it again.

So we'll see how it goes. I have 7 charges, 1 of which is a felony and so if I lose then I'm probably looking at a year in jail. Where I live laws are really strict--im looking at all this time BC I had a half ounce of herb on me. The weight came back from the lab as .49 ounces, and so they dont even have enough for a felony but they are still pushing for it, its such bullshit.

The main thing I'm worried about is making sure that my girlfriend has money if I do have to go. I'll probably let it go until next Thursday and then give it the chop, and let her deal with my people.

Thanks again for all the replies guys. I'll post some more pictures if it starts to look like the soil/mold problem seems to really start hurting the buds

Wow, that sucks. How did they get a felony charge out of the scenario you just described? Is the cop saying you tried to hit him with your car? A traffic accident with no injuries is not a felony case. Anyway, it sounds like SO much bullshit to me I can't believe the D.A. is bothering to prosecute this. Can you make a deal to plea to a misdemeanor with probation? Hopefully you have a decent defender. Ugh. Good luck!

Anything over a half ounce in the state of Virginia is considered "posession with intent to distribute". They're also giving me a duid saying I was impaired BC of marijuana.

They pffered me a plea--simple posession and a DUI. 2 years probation, 6 months in jail, and still a felony. Its like, why would I even take that?

I tried to look at the pics but the links aren't valid.

Sorry about your troubles. Hopefully that was their first deal offer but your defense can get the felony out of there. Misdemeanor, 1 year probation. Do Virginia taxpayers really want to support you in jail? I think not. But then again, you never know which way it can go.

If your girlfriend knows how to trim, just let the plants finish and dry in their pots and ask her to cut and trim when the stems can just break off. That's an easy marker and she doesn't have to stress about "the right time" if you're not around to do it.

I'll be looking for you in RIU, so hopefully you'll be here.
