I made a 2' x 2' frame out if wood simple strapping cheap and light. Then I covered the top with a piece of sheet metal and in the center had a hole for the exhaust to connect to. That's where I sucked the exhaust from the box and all the heat from the CFLs. I mounted those cheap plastic bulb bases, had eight of this and four had the 'Y' splitters to support two cflscfls, hence the 12 total. I'll take a pic for you and post it up. I'm sure my description is vagueish... I think I have pics of it in my grow journal...

jusjd23, I haven't really looked into the LEDs so can't add to much there, I just know that my 600 watt HPS/MH was a hell of a lot cheaper than a LED light. Plus after reading about this vertical growing shit, I'm going to be taking my hood off and dropping that bulb into the action next grow. Although haven't read anything about if it's good for autos as it's about growing Walls of buds, but I'm gonna do my autos for now anyways. I am the type that has to see why I should or should not do something.

So it had four plugs? or six? was it fire-safe? 250 w isn't enough for six plants @ seed to 2ft VEG ONLY, is it? I flower them under 1000w HPS bulb dimmed to 640w... but in veg they be a bit stretchy WHICH I DESPISE

I wired them all into two separate plug 4 & 4. So each outlet had 6 CFLs to power. Was definitely fire safe. Wasn't drawing a lot of power and the temps were more than manageable. That was for one plant. Maybe 6 when small probably not 6 in veg until they are 2'. Plus all those CFLs cost more money than my current 600 watt HPS.
Also I didn't get much stretch from the CFLs I did keep them close but not close enough to burn the plant or heat stress them.

I've never heard that about lamps, I used to run a 600 on it but an engineer friend who works for solis tek ge and hortilux that the proper way to do it is a 1000 dimmed and that the 600 was hard on the 600... yeah i wasshocked to say the least but ive been doing it with hortilux reds for four years now.. its a trip.

I'm curious to see how that setup would work, if it would benefit my yield with a very setup versus a SCROG... Seems like a good idea but I wonder about the backside of the plant not getting light, although with proper training I may be able to eliminate that as an issue.... Hmmm I have some thinking to do. My current grow has o e to two weeks left...

I was just wondering why are your leaf tips curling already in this stage. How often are you watering and feeding? Do you have a good drain\runoff? How close do you keep your lights to your leaves?
