Do you worry everyday?

I came to the realization that I worry everyday. Not that I put myself into a depression, but that there is always "something" to worry about.

For example I worried yesterday about getting some personal work finished and thought, "as soon as I am done I can relax", so I finished my work then about 5mins later started to worry about finances and my fiance's job. She called and said everything was fine at work now, so I could relax. Then 5mins later I started to worry about getting some prep work done for our wedding. Got that out of the way, then the next worry came, done, worry, done...etc etc.

I am only 28 now, but to some of you older guys does life ever get to a "worry-less" state? Or does it get even worse after having kids, mortgage, saving for their college, etc?

ADHD, I have had it all my life and it does never get any better. You just have to read as much as you an about it and learn to cope. It is terrible at times, if not one thing it is another. Realy no fix other than meds but I am too old for that. I am 51 so when it all gets to be too much I fire up a bowl and relax for a while.

While work used to cause stress, there were only various occasions that i would worry, such as when all of my savings got nicked etc, but other than that i do not really worry, everything will be fine, it'll all work out, i just try and enjoy life as best as i can. Why sweat the small stuff :) Moving house in 3 weeks, havn't given it a thought, keep calm and carry on.

You prioritize what worries you. Right now my worry is the possibility of a wildfire. We are in a drought and fires are all around us. Just had breaking news that the Bosque is once again on fire near Albuquerque. I keep hearing fireworks. Dumb ass fucking stupid assholes who can't comprehend that fire is BAD. Where was I? Oh yes. Prioritizing. Don't sweat the small shit. Worry about what needs fixing the most and go from there.

I'm just waiting around to die. Once you reach peace with dying, then you can pretty much just enjoy your day to day life without letting the little things bog you down.

You would think that people who live in abundance (compared to the older times) and freedom would be buzzing. Well it still spirals to the same place don`t it? I`ll offer my solution:

People who worry have tense muscles (from myself of course), and that induces further discomfort. First you stretch all those muscles, allow the nerves to free up, breathe into your lungs like bellows... Feel all the ribs and back click. The difference yoga brings is immense. Its so developed for such a long time it can`t be dated back....

How can an animal with tense muscles rest... Stretching comes naturally. Don`t forget, our thoughts are controlled by our very basic instincts. Only by controlling those you can control your thoughts, and obviously vice versa (why do people fast?). Problem here is that your thoughts already control you, thats how you were brought up, you had no idea.

Now the issue here is you know you don`t want to worry, but you can`t help it. You don`t have that control over your mind. Can you do it?

Meditation is the way forward. As much of it as you need, understand that its to make you a better person, its your challenge and you need nothing but will. Do it with reason, not with expectation. I do about an hour daily now, and I did 5 hours of it the other day. Just getting into it!

I will ask here, are you willing to take control of your mind, and get it to do what you want it to do? Or will you just say go with the flow... need to change your job, change your relationship, get a new car... What ever is what I`m gonna say you need nothing :)

Whenever I worry, I switch on a nice wise voice and remind me of all the things I need to remember. I can`t take control? Off to meditate and stretch for an hour... If I had to, I would fast for days on end to take control.

Also psychedelics help a great deal, using them for shits & giggles doesn`t help a great deal. You would obviously have no clue about their medical benefits though, I mean marijuana was poison some years back?

If you think this is 'mumbo jumbo shit', go worry about something else :-P

Thanks man, reading your post made me relax and reminded me that I need to go to my fiance and I's hill tonight and relax. I bring my iolite and we vaporize and just look up at the sky, maybe we should try stretching too. Thanks again.

That sounds pretty perfect to be honest, toking an iolite under the sky. You must have the right idea :)

The amazing thing is called 'kinaesthetic sense' and its being more aware of your muscles etc. Modern people have a lower kinaesthetic sense, less practiced. Also people really stop paying attention to it when they are stressed or worried. (like me)

You should try stretching it feels awesome and the more you do it the more you return to your natural posture. Thats pretty much the aim with the whole thing, theres a certain posture for everyone that has the least toll on the muscles. You never discover it because of all our daily life.

I solved mine when I worked on body and mind at the same time. Hard to tell which one is more important, but yoga has it seriously figured out in its own words, both body and mind :)
