Does AC unit pull fresh grow odors?

Most people have an AC unit to help with heat control if I'm not mistaken....

I know I should use a carbon filter and fan, however will it pull the hot air from my tent out, and pull the cool AC room air in with the vent flaps open?

If the is yes and I'll have a steady 20-25 degrees or should at least put in a CO2 generator thing (yeast & sugar most Likly)
Then problem solved anyways about the smell, my plants will still grow and be happy.

But mainly why I'm posting here anyways,
if not....... currently I have my tent door opened (smaller tent 2x4, can't put AC unit inside it, no venting the tent directly outside)
The Ac Unit is however vented outside, is it pulling the odor outside along with all the hotter air that the AC unit expelled?

Or is the AC unit just blowing cooled air continuously in a circle in the room and the ac has a separate exhaust system that doesn't even take the smell from the house?

The only reason I'm asked this as well is because after turning off the AC you can start to smell the plants from inside the tent as the fans are blowing the air around inside the tent.

Yup,the AC will smell...

depends on the ac unit ..... if its one of the mobile units you duct out a window then yes .... but a central or window unit the condenser is cooled by its own fan outside and the inside air is recirculated

My ac is a duct to the window, but rather my sliding door.

So I need to stealth my tent asap.

you'll get used to the smell so when you can smell it ..... its a million times stronger to someone who isnt around it as often as you are ..... filter should of been up and running first and foremost .... but you know how it goes hind sight is 20/20 and all that mumbo jumbo .... dont cheap out on the filter if stealth is your goal ..... ive had 20+ plants in a 4'x6' walkin closet and family that had no idea would come over twice a week or more sometimes and never once had a comment or question

not to mention your clothes or anything close to the tent will start to smell like that and youll be wearing probable cause for a search and not even know it

So all the AC exhaust will have an Oder that's pumping outside unless I carbon filter it?

As well as good to know, it's Friday so I'm going to be putting it up tonight anyways, if the tent isn't cool enough to my liking, let's say it's 25-30 degrees cause I'm running 2 200watt LED panels, I should then add my CO2 to the tent? and the tent recycles the same carbon filtered air for the filtering part I looked up it might be how it's done.

But as well as, I'll have to mod my AC with ducting to pump some of that cool air directly into one of those vent socks.

if you have a can filter in the tent and it still smells then the fan is undersized you should have negative pressure in the tent keeping the smell from leaking out

filter and fan pull out of the tent shouldnt be recirculating ......exhaust out fresh air in

Window ac will put out smell also...

Mini split ac will not...

Central air, will push the smell through the house...if you have a return vent,in the grow room...

Window units have a tiny little vent you can open to get fresh air. But has two fans and the exhaust air is just air from outside so it never contacts the inside air so I dont see how it's possible for the exhaust to smell. Central doesn't matter where the return is the air moves to it so it will stink a house up

I have central but my closet has a window unit I have no issues with smell unless I leave the door wide open. It normally sucks shut though .... Honestly think it's the pillar fan I have that blows the smell out when the door is open

Ok good info so far, I haven't been able to get on here to reply but now I can.

Ok so here's my set up guys...

I have an apartment, owned.
No bed room so I got my closet or wide open room. I have my 2x4 tent wide open room.
I have a 8,000 BTU AC portable with 1 exhaust ducting, not duel.

My carbon filter is 4"
My inline fan is 4" 240CMF

I NOW just recently upgraded to LED from CFL. So now running 2 200watt LED panel, and usual fans within the tent for circulation.
I could add an CO2 DIY generator with sugar/yeast. With the temps reaching 25-30 degrees with door closed but no circulation of fans as mentioned above with my carbon filter/inline. I'll set that bad boy up this weekend if it's not to loud ahaha it's still in the box sealed I been growing "unstealthed" sense April 3. I don't even know if I should flip start to flip to a 12/12 yet on 2, 10" plants. I'm just starting out first time growing. I also got LED thinking it could help with heat problems and also it's way better than 14 CFLs

Okay so other than that, I believe with my inline fan and filter I should still be able to create that negative pressure, and this is achieved when the walls of the tent start pulling in?

Also with the inline fan installled with carbon filter, how do I cancel out some of the noise from blowing air, just like how an oscillating fan blows air and has a sound, the inline fans must be louder than that. Almost equivalent to a AC or something, but with an AC and inline fan running that becomes to much to wanna be in the same room with all day.

Btw I can't duct to outside really, there's no windows and I got a sliding door but I got my AC exhausting from that rather windows, and my dryer venting is across the house.

Some window AC's will send herb smelling air out the hot back outside, some will not. It depends the way the AC model has it's fans and ports inside setup.

The filter will cut the cfm in half probably it might be enough. The yeast I don't know honestly your plants will probably benefit more from fresh air. Then you may also encounter a mold problem from lack of circulation. Try it and see. My 6" can fan is loud. But the doors slamming in jail are louder. Just tossing that out there. They do make mufflers for the exhaust

And by negative pressure I just mean suction in the intake vents of the tent. Smoke test it. It should easily pull smoke in and not let it drift off

honestly only worked with a few brands on service calls but ive had alot apart and never saw a window unit built to blow inside air outside not arguing im just a see it to believe it kinda guy i guess

Running a fan with no ducting is super loud, running a fan all connected up to ducting and filter is not as loud.

Forget the homemade co2 frankenstein machine, I've done them all, you will regret wasting your time with it I am sure.

How and where is the condensor heat exhausting/convecting out, and consider inside where the fan is moving air from the room through the unit recirculating. many are not sealed tight construction wise inside. Many are.
I've used many cheapass window units and had much smell leak problems to the outside from several.
