Does anyone actually believe Ahmed built the clock himself?

Does anyone honestly believe this kid deserves to go to the whitehouse for this? google offers.. space camp etc. I don't and it doesn't matter what color or creed he comes from.

i just read the basics..quickly.

my take is: 15 minutes of fame seeker combined with dick move if the family is muslim..not a very smart thing to do in this day and age..the father obviously has an agenda, wishes controversy..it won't be long before those who worship allah to the extreme figure it out..and then were gonna say..fuck! kid's backpacks now! in our schools..why didn't we see this coming?!..go back to eating our cap'n crunch..breakfast in america!

he's just passionate in his belief..he can see, feel and hear something that is within reach and he'll be damned if he allows it to flow through his fingers, if there's something he can contribute or do about..wouldn't you?

let him be..everyone should want it this much..he's the epitome of patriot.

This kid isn't brilliant. I was building circuits with my radio shack electronics kit when I was 10

It's a different world, though. Nevertheless, it goes to show how education has changed, too.
Do they even offer shop classes in the American curriculum, anymore?

It depends on district.
My daughters school has a full shop curricula.
She is even helping me with Mastercam which she took in 8th grade

Wild...that's good to hear, at least. Shortly after I graduated HS, the BC gov't gutted the shop programs. However, I don't know if they restarted them later.

What Ahmed made pretty much IS a bomb, all you'd need to do is add an explosive and link it to the buzzer circuit...

Wouldn't having a clock in a briefcase make it hard to read the time?
