Well, all I can say is that I can find the same article, over and over, that says it does increase "potency."
Word for word I see this everywhere.
--------------
Does curing affect potency?
The very short answer is YES. It does affect potency in a very positive manner. Curing cannabis after harvesting for few days to several months will improve the potency, as well as the taste and texture of the buds.

But, they cannot provide proof. Proof is an assay, and neither of us has done that. And I can't find anybody that has done that. Weird. Of course, at my clinic I can pay a small about to have my two samples assayed, if I wanted to.
And you said 2x and can't prove that.
So much is un-known. Such as, there is a difference between potency and quality? I think so.
But, until I can find an assay experiment, I can't really know.
I can find an equal number of articles that says it does not increase potency only quality.
Drying and curing cannabis properly will yield the most THC-potent smoke. When dried and
cured improperly, potency can diminish substantially. The level of THC in a plant is determined by its genetics. Proper drying and
curing will keep the THC level as high as genetically possible. It does not increase potency.
