Does flowering time include the 1 or 2 weeks of transition?

I got some BC Blueberry seeds and it says that it should flower in 8 to 9 weeks. Should I count the week and a half it took to show sex and start flowering and say only 6 to 7 weeks left after the first buds appear. Or, should I let the buds mature 8 to 9 weeks after they appear. I read other posts and people are so divided on this. I need a straight answer from a professional grower. If you're not sure don't answer, I would hate go get confused even further on this issue. So, transition ----->Flowering time or not?

Like you said, there's no straight answer. If there were there still wouldn't be. I start from the start of 12/12. It might not be done in 8-9 weeks anyway so make sure you check your trichomes

Once you grow a few plants the "Flowering time" listed is what it is, just a guide line to grow....

It really doesn't matter how long it says it takes your plant to bud [it's just a guideline]....

The first time, don't count the two weeks [9-10 days for me], where the plant goes from veg to bud....

Then you won't be wondering why your plant isn't finished....and still has a couple of weeks....

YOUR PLANT IF HEALTHY WILL FINISH WHEN IT IS DONE....

No book or guideline can predict that exactly...

While we are on the subject: At the end, your buds to you look done... are they?
Does the top cola still have pistils/hairs sticking up and growing towards the light....
If it does, your plant is not quite done yet...
Besides Trichomes all turning Milky/Cloudy your top cola will no longer have hairs growing...
Those hairs will recede back into bud... That's when Buds plump up and get fat...
And that time can not be predicted by a guideline... your plant will tell you: "I'm Done"

Good Luck man....

Thanks for your replies, i'm just so anxious to start that blueberry, I planted them in coco/perlite mix 7 days ago. Got them under 6 blue cfl's for now, when my bag seeds are done budding they will go in the tent. I started 12-12 on bag seeds 4 weeks today, will be another 4 to 6 weeks for those I imagine. Should give me time to start mainlinging the blueberry.

Here's a not quite ready auto bud for you to judge yourself how they look and also a trich pic that clearly shows clear and cloudy trichomes.

This auto is being grown with my photo plants so its been on 12/12 for 24 days with them and before that was on 18/6.

I ordered 12, germinated 6 out of 6 and they are doing great. I put them in coco and perlite 7 days ago and 2 of them are already showing triple leaves.

When to start counting flowering shouldn't be an issue at all. The plant is done when it is done, it is as simple as that. Breeders flowering times should mostly be ignored. They are typically overly optimistic, and do not take into account many important factors that could change the flowering time drastically.

I thought you could leave auto on 24 hours if you wanted, also, I hear auto is not as high in THC.

When breeders give you a timeline for flowering they are basing that off of when you flip the lights to 12/12. It's only a guideline, and I'm sure they give you best case scenario, so it isn't uncommon to have a plant go a week or two beyond that before it's ready. Also, if you're growing from seed it's pretty common to have that first grow go a little longer than if you were to take cuts from those plants and grow them out again from clone.

Pistils turning brown/red and receding gives you an idea, but is not always accurate. Sativas often continue to spit out new white hairs from top colas even when the plant is "done" in every other sense. Buy yourself a cheap little scope/loup, and get a feel for looking at the trichome heads. Once I see the majority of them turning cloudy I pull the trigger. Some amber is OK, but that is a sign that the THC is starting to degrade so don't wait too long after you start noticing some amber heads popping up.

Autos are generally best on 20/4.

My single auto was on 18/6 while I trained my normal photoperiod plants that were vegging.
My auto flowered under 18/6 for a few weeks before I needed to switch the photos to 12/12 lighting for them to flower. Its all in the same room you see.

The auto was just a freebie seed that I thought lets have a try.

I've run a couple of autos over the last few years but I generally prefer photoperiod plants.

My veg tent is at 22 on and 2 off, just so they get just enough dark period to do all that nature stuff that happens during lights out
