So I hate to be the guy asking the same ol' tired out question, but I need to figure out if this is ready to harvest and I don't have a loupe and will not be able to get one. Thanks for any input. IMAG0044.jpg

Its hard to tell in that one picture, but it looks like you can let it go for another week cause the hairs are orange but the bud still can swell up a little and the trichomes can still become more cloudy/amber.

at the miday sun if the trichs are shinny and reflect the light its not ready yet , when this effect dimishes and the bud starts to look like its dusted rather shinny then u should consider ready

Thank you guys for your comments, and sorry I haven't replied until now.

I'm such a noob at this so here it goes. I've taken better pics, I have 2 plants, the shorter Y shaped plant is def not ready and is not the focus here. I'm outta my stash and am getting so impatient :( I wanna pull the taller girl so badly!! This is my first time ever growing and I have put virtually no money into it(just miracle grow perlited soil..i know i know) so I'm proud of em even though the plants on here really put them to shame.

I keep reading things that confuse my brain area. Some ppl say when half of the hairs turn red is peak maturity...while other things I read lead me to believe that due to swollen calyxes NO hairs should be protruding. I'm not sure exactly when she started flowering but I can tell you she had preflowers ever since late july even though I only noticed the actual first cluster of true bud pistols around Sept 1stish. I think she started a few days before that though so I'd place her at 7 weeks tbh. The smaller Y-shaped plant is noticeably behind her and never even showed preflowers, I didn't know it was female 'til budding.

Anyway, after being so long-winded, here's the pics. Will she really fatten up much more and all things considered, should I give into my urges? Gonna be hard to wait it out without a stash. I'm so weak :( Only thing else I can to say is about 7weeks, Kentucky, lived 90% of life with only water and MG soil. Oh and it's bagseed, I don't even know if it's Indica or sativa, or a hybrid. Pretty sure a hybrid though as the leaves vary from long and strangly to close and compact.

For the very most times the one safe way to ensure the plant is at peak potency is to harvest when as many as possible trichomes are milky white. They start up clear - then go milky - then go amber. At amber some cannabinoids have turned into other cannabinoids and are said to have more of a sleepy effect. This might be right in my small tests of this.
As stated above. When the plant is under bright light (this works indoors too) you look take a good look at the trichomes. At the early stage you'll clearly see a lot of "diamond shiny" "glittering" . Later this glittering will meallow out and shine will be gone. When completely mature you'll have almost no shiny glittering.
There is one thins. Sativas tend to keep growing more shiny trichome and bud, so you'll have to harvest at some point (this might be like 130 days or more) - but this is only the very sativa strains.
As for the talking about using hairs to determine maturity this is not such a good rule for you to use. Over time growers will learn that when their strain has so many red/brown hairs it's most potent. (and this is when most trichomes are milky white). Large majority of the cannabinoids are in the heads of the trichomes and they peak when milky. You determine which way would be best to use ;O)

The shimmering has definitely decreased significantly if not completely. Now it's more like a dullish pixie dust or something. I just dunno if I can really expect them to get much more swollen as they've practically never been fed nutrients or bloomer...just had the MG soil to eat. They also had kind of a rough life growing up. And the bigger one, the one I wanna pull, has had a few bud sites taken as I couldn't resist at like week 4 or so...kinda got a little head buzz at that point. The smaller untouched one will be a heavier producer and has more sites..just nowhere near being finished yet.

By the overall looks of your plant i'd say maybe two more weeks. Plant just still looks very virile.
