The tricomes are the crystals. if you look close they look like tall thin mushrooms.they should look clear like. when the bud is near ready they will start to get cloudy.

I was gonna mention the different windows for different effects but the second chart shows these windows. it may be to small for people to see but if you click on the pic twice it will make the pic full screen and you can then zoom in to read the info.Glad to help!!
