My last 4 grow was 4 plants 3-4ft tall but this next grow I'm going to do 5 at about only 2 feet taller, just to speed the process up and reduce veg time a bit. Should I expect the same sized nugs?
Does plant size limit nug size?

Taller plants with more nodes will yeild slightly more, individual bud size is generally determined by the thickness of each branch, thicker branch bigger bud.
You might find when making canopies that height is irrelevant to an extent i.e. bottom growth sucks from low lught penetration

Be a far better Question if it said ,what do you think Producers the biggest Colas ,Topped or plants left un topped .
Then My Answer would be un topped plants in my garden produce far bigger buds ,than the plants not topped .
Has for plant size you can still get big buds from small plants ,but I much rather get a lot of nice sized buds and grow my plants ,in a way they will last me till my next lot have finished .

I mean that's a fair question but not the same topic. I am specifically curious as to how much plant size affects nug size.

Its a hard one ,Because I have grown plants when doing full house grows for market, where clones are just flowered,sog style. some of those produced tops that weighed 1/2 oz dry .But you normally just get the one nice size bud, Where has the plants I have going at the minute are around 5ft inc pot, they have several buds that will dry to that, and a couple on each one that will do 20/28g dry, with past buds,i have grown of this strain,i know pretty much what the buds will dry too a.worked with PE A lot..but then you get all the extra buds that you would not get from a sob, that are still very weighty.Strain is really important when doing the Songs though ,you want something like Ak47,Whitewidow,Bubblegum ,K2.

maybe this will help a bit: i've done the same strain in hempy buckets and now in waterfarms. the plants were roughly the same size 3.5 ft tall at harvest but the yield on the waterfarms was way more. so i would say root mass size was the major difference (same nutes, same lights etc) in my experience.

You can get big buds off of small plants. I do it all the time. This plant is about 18 inches tall. 1 gallon fabric pot, 100% coco, VitaGrow nutrients. The buds got too heavy and the stalk split down the middle. The buds were laying sideways. I taped it up and staked it. Still growing fine and is a testament to how tough these plants are.

Big Plants Big Colas,if the buds not good, you can all ways use it has a Baseball Bat.Pineapple Express,One of several big Chunga's.On each Plant.
You Can get single Cola's like this though from Flowering Small plant's but normally just get the one big cola,Grown this strain a lot ,its part of every grow i do and these normally dry to over a oz.The Quality is high grade top Medical Strain love it.Got a bit of Light Bleaching beauuse the top was cm's from the light ,light has now been highered

If you can get away with doing a lot of these, then well worth doing .I need to keep plant numbers down why i do a max of 4 Plants,2 flower other vegging along side the ones in flower so its a straight switch to 12/12 with the others once the ones in flower have doneYou can get big buds off of small plants. This is Part of one of the Pineapple Express Plant i have in the Room Each Cola,the tops are has big has the one above ,The lower ones will still be very nice weight wise.Pineapple Express is a plant that would do well ,what ever method you do i have done scrog of it and they turned out the best for weight ,But has a sog i think you could hit some very nice weights,and if plant numbers was not a issue ,its a method i would love to try out.The picture of the bud above of the Pe ,is the one behind the main top ,i would say that one in front is now bigger than the back one
