Does spraying your plant with water protect it from a hard freeze?

For sure. Been hearing that for other posters. My tought process was that the water would freeze and insulate the plant and keep it at 32f. But ill take your guys word do you run the sheet over the plant to the ground? And how much does this help? 1f ?2f ? If you had to guess

Spraying citrus when it's going to freeze is a common practice to prevent frost damage. I don't think it'll suit you in this instance. Use a 10X10 pop up canopy.
What is a pop up canopy going to do? Ive heard that the logic behind covering olants is that the ground releases heat and if you cover them you trap the heat. But with a pop up that just covers above the plant. To my knowledge that wouldnt be of any use...???

They use kerosene heaters to keep the temps up .....oranges and other crops ......back in the day farmers would light fires around the perimeter of there crops to help on frost nights .......

No simply keeping the cold wind off helps immensly. And slowing transpiration
In winter we would always plant in tight groups and they protect each other. Same thing

Never heard of kerosene heat before looks promising the problem is tgey are 150 each per heater i would need multiple and idk if it would make sense to get tgem ever tho they seem like a good option. Mught just be beter if spending 60$ on torches and staying out there from 2am to 7 am walking around heating the plants up

How much longer before your plants are done bro? Personally, I want to observe you through to the end of this drama. Would also be curious to see if the cold will turn yours purple. Some genes are prone to that trait.
