Does the 7-8 week flower period start at week 1 of flower?

Hola amigos! This is my first grow using autoflower seeds. I have a couple of questions I couldn't find a answer to. Before I begin let me tell you about my setup so you can better understand what I'm working with.

I'm using a 5x5 tent with a 1000watt HPS lamp (I'm in week 1 of flower) with a carbon scrubber (12' oscillating fan inside running 24/7). I'm growing 2 Candy Cane Autos and 2 White Cookies from the Crop King.

Question 1. Does the 7 week flower time that's stated from Crop King begin during my first week of flower? Or is that life span of the plant? From what I've read they take longer than 7 weeks and I'm prepared to grow them for longer.

Question 2. My CC's seen to still be stretching. Is this normal? If it is not normal is their something I can do to help reduce the stretch? Thanks in advance for any info that you share with me.

The time stated is from seed to chop. But in most cases it will take longer about 2 weeks longer...when she looks done that's when she will begin to swell and your yield can almost double if allow her to do its thing...I don't chop until the plant looks like it's about to die. The last week I don't water anymore as well. Believe it or not it makes the plant squeeze out all the thc. Thc is there to protect the plant from invaders just like a cactus needles...when the plant senses extreme stress it gets ready to fight...

I grow my autos as you state in your question.
I will start my countdown of say 75 days for example from yhe day i first see pistils. Which is usually around day 21-30. So in total, its usually a month longer than breeders recommend and they get heavier in the last two weeks as @blackjesus said.

Had them run 12 or more though really depends strain/pheno/what nots ..... They should run kinda fast under the 1k ..... The cc are some stretchy fuckers just tie them down is about all you can do

This is my second harvest and I learned from my last harvest that patience is key. I won't make the mistake of chopping too early again.

After day 20 they went nuts with branching and stretching

Don't concern yourself at all with breeder flowering period lengths, this is all determined by environment. This should be considered very approximate in nature. Instead familiarize yourself with what properly ripened plants look like.

I. E. breeder flowering estimates are mostly useless.

Honestly man, mine was terrible. Began foxtailing almost instantly into flower, so what looked like nice fat buds were airy, ugly, leafy mess. Smells delicious, and super sticky, just no density to it. Yielded 30.5 grams, which is gonna be turned into e-liquid and edibles.

I've grown out all the Speed Seed autos now, minus AK47 (out of stock) and Skunk (failed to germinate). Northern lights is late into flower, maybe 2.5-3 oz from her. Amnesia is 125cm tall and just started flowering, hoping for a big yield. Diesel is 25cm, and began flowering crazy early. Might fuck that one off...

Ive just gotten me hands on 6 mephisto, pick n mix ended up with 2 of each so the pheno comparison will be fun!
Chris at @bonzaseeds really sorted me out with the last order, and he is a tops salesman.
Also thinkin a photoperiod grow soon with 2 strains of different breeders,
2x barneys farm Ayahuasca Purple and then 2x rare dankness ghost train haze or scotts OG.
Just dunno what to do????
