hello all,
i have a few plants growing, and i wudnt say they are too close together but the undeneaths of the plants are getting no sunlight atall due to big fan leaves etc.....
If cutting away the bottom branches that are dying off anyway/ yellow an miserable, will this make the plant focus more of the energy on the main buds, thus making them alot bigger?

any help on this would be greatly appriciated

Once they are dying or dead, feel free to pluck them off. They can no longer photosynthesize and provide nothing to the plant. Some people get carried away when doing this and there are two schools of thought on doing so. Yes, the plant will be able to focus more energy into the flowers without so many fan leaves to constantly feed, but those leaves also are what energizes the plant and helps feed it. By yanking too many leaves off, you are also cutting back on the amount of light that actually hits leaves and nourishes it. So go ahead and pluck anything that is dead or dying, but don't go crazy with the pruning.

i think it needs to be a slow gradual process. i wouldnt strip most leaves off at one time. large changes of any kind risk shock to the plant. i think the best method (just my opinion) is to remove as many fans leaves as possible over time, this way the plant focuses more energy into the buds in a gradual way but can still make use of the leaves it has during it's flowering cycle. my goal is to have fan leaves stripped just prior to harvest, not all but most. again this should be done over time, not all at once or twice. i dont think doing it that way is a sound method.
