does this look like rot or nute stain

sorry in advance not trying to takeover your thread but i have a very similar question
my roots look fine but there is some stuff on my air tubes.
Any ideas what it is and or what I should add im currently giving them ro water and AN 3 part (equal)
if I should add something what should I add and at what ratio I currently have some TARANTULA, Piranha, pondzyme and hydrogen peroxide IMG_51.jpgIMG_50.jpgIMG_46.jpg

That's algae. ouch....Is light getting in somehow in the line? You should use black line and not clear

after you block up any light leaks you should be constantly running something in the res to keep it clean. You can use the h2o2 (not the 3% store bought shit in a brown bottle) or bennies but not both. If you use bennies obviously everyone knows what I use in this thread but I would go with the pondzyme because I have read (but can't confirm) that one of the AN bennies uses anaerobic bacteria which is not ideal. I think it was tarantula but you can try it and see if it works.

haha yeah the 'great white' has gone back on the shelf. Maybe will be better off using it on my tomatoes.
The pondzyme seems to be working wonders. I've had it in there a week now (added every 3 days) and its kept the water clear as day and has stabilized the ph so I'm rearly changing ph.

So all seems to be rolling along now.

Btw the pondzyme wasn't cheap either ($40) although all I use is 1.5 ml per 16 ltrs.

Ps. How did you go with your light leaks? Best thing I did was buy some insulation tape. Seems to off fixed alot of my problems I was initially having.

Don't know about light leaks. Carefully drill holes in black buckets to match diameter of black 1/4 inch tubing(drip line tubing used for outside landscaping). Also use correct size of 1/2 inch black drip line tubing for the RDWC lines. So no light leaks and no light problems in air lines for the aquarium air diffusers.

$40 for pondzyme? It is around $10 in the U.S.

Yeah $40 aud was the cheapest I could find.
Guess that's why are wages are higher, I was in the USA in 2010 and remember buying 30 beers for $20 could not believe it.
Also buying jumpers for $20 equivalent in aus was over $100 for the same jumper.

Crazy shit.
Anyhow happy new years

that was for professorkush

Thanks Malevolence I think the problem is a combination of light and temperature, last grow I had a 34 gallon res (no bennies or h2o2) so I am guessing that it did not heat up as quick as the 5 gallon buckets.

Update

Here are the girls a few weeks later looking alot better off.
Still have some browning of roots although its not slime it seems to be more of a nute stain or where the air sits beteeen the pot and the water line.

They are 1 week into flower and going to be changing to flowering nutes next week.

This girl ak47 has started to burn after using canna boost for 3 days strait as a foliar feed. So going to back off to once a week.
Anyone else use canna boost as a foliar feed?
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Cheers

roots look good for recovering from rot. I never foliar spray but I have thought about grying it... watch the P in flower to much will make the leafs curl down esp in hydro. u can mix a little grow with it if they start to curl
