Does this look okay...?

This is a CFL box being put together for a buddy. 8x 42w (4x 2700k, 4x 6500k). For space/stealth reasons they're setup horizontally on two layers and will go into an 80L rubbermaid with a 4" (not pc) exhaust.

Does this look safe? It's not too much?

No, The lights have got to be close to the plant, With this you're only going to cover a limited amount of the plant. I'd suggest you use the cheaper extension cords and hang them from the roof of your grow space, I'd suggest using the ones that hold two bulbs, Then allow two bulbs on each side of the plant to hang around 40% way of plant down, then have some for the top of the plant as well, To be successful with CFL's they've gotta be 1-2 inches away from the plant

The two little autflowers going in will be scrog'd if that makes any difference.


With your suggestion and the given space the bulbs would hang 90-100% down the plant leaving the ballast nearest the buds.

Should I lose two of the lower lights and move the other two straight to the power strips? it'll be tight but they should fit without touching. and i may be able to fit all 8 up top after a little rearranging... i need a minute :joint:
