Does this soil look decent enough to transplant?

It's soil I got last year which came with some flowers. After the flowers died away, some regular garden weeds grew in there which I've just removed. There's some little bead type things in the soil too I guess for better drainage?

I want to transplant the healthy plant shown into a larger pot so I was wondering if I could use this soil and pot? Can go and take more specific pictures if needed. 100_3047.JPG 100_3046.JPG 100_3036.JPG

It's best to either mix up some soil yourself, or buy fox farms ocean forest/ happy frog, etc. Plenty of tutorials for mixing amazing soil just for cannabis

If you must use that, add some perlite for drainage

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to now not spend anything further if possible on soil, nutes etc.. Don't really have the budget at the moment. So I'm using whatever resources I have available. The soil in smaller pot that the plant's in is Canna Terra soil, really good quality, but I've nearly run out of that completely, only a few scoops left in the bag. Maybe I should scoop enough soil out of the larger pot to make room for me to transplant the plant from the smaller pot with all that Canna soil and then just have the surrounding soil, and lower level soil be of the kind that's already in the larger pot? Would that work or does the soil need to be evenly mixed up with the two types instead?

Well...personally and this is just my thought...I would never use just plain dead soil for a plant of any kind. As much as I dislike the taste of saying this...Miracle Gro will grow cannabis...is it optimal ? No...but it is cheap...$10 USD should do ya.

dude, no. Miracle grow is shit. It killed a ton of my seedlings and cost me about 30$ worth of seeds!! It's worth it to either order some fox farms, or buy it locally. Most nurserys will carry it, but I know the big commercial places don't 99% of the time. I went to walmart, lowest, home depot, etc. All they carry was miracle grow.

Ended up paying 25$ to get a big bag of fox farms from amazon. Well worth it.

Miracle Gro is indeed shit when it comes to cannabis but there are worse alternatives and a lot of growerz have used and continue to use MG successfully It can work on a very tight budget and/or when a better medium is not readily available. I have a store about 20 miles away that carries the FFOF as well as e FFHF I get mine for $16.99 for the full size bag.

Thanks for the info bro.. I actually got some Miracle Grow Pour and Feed a few years ago still have 2/3 of the bottle left, it got lots of good reviews for flowering plants.. you think i could use it.. plus is it a good time to feed yet.. seedlings are now 20 days since germination.. bottle looks just like this:

You think that Miracle Grow above will do more harm than good bro?

i have read and heard a lot to never reuse soil of dead flower for cannabis especially the seedlings. you will be better off with some coco coir and perlite for the first month as at this stage your seedling does not need a rich soil to feed, it wants a light, well aerated medium to develop the roots just like babies. or at least increase the aeration in it IMHO

Dont re use old mediums ,too much salt in there also pests etc. Go down to the local forest and get some top soil if your on a tight budget.
The pellets are slow release fert which is also no good for potted dope plants. Miracle grow will be ok just work up from 1/2 strength.

Yea I'm sure that shit grows fat ornamental flowers.

Im sure it would work for cannabis too, but being something that you are going to eventually burn and consume ... not the best choice.

Happy growing :)

Cheers mate :blsmoke:

What about regular tomato feed for the veg stage? My two surviving plants are looking very small for nearly 3 weeks (compared to pics and vids I've seen) so I think I need to feed them something to give them a boost.. I actually saw a video by Cali Green and he feeds his plants at 2 weeks!

I'm in a big city, the local forest isn't that close. Didn't realize it was pellets and already repotted in there now :o

But I included all the good Canna Terra soil too so it's just bordered by that pellet soil, and also deeper down in the pot.. you think I need to take it out again? Also for veg stage (nearly 3 weeks now and very small plants) what do you thinks better MG or Tomato Feed?

Ah shooot.. I already replanted them now in there. I don't have resources to purchase any better soil until I get paid in 5 weeks time. Guess I'm just going to have to hope for the best. Any thoughts on feeding at this stage? My plants look very small at nearly 3 weeks in now, don't know if I should use MG, tomato feed, coffee grinds, urine (as per suggestion) or maybe a combination of them all?

I understand man... you see the reason to why your plant is not well for a three weeks is because of weak root system not the food. you see those lil cotyledon? They are there feeding the seedling with needed nitrogen and other minerals until the roots and main stem is big enough to deliver the needed minerals, remember the growth up there happens after the growth down there . IMO using any fert will kill it inevitable now and anytime before she has actual set of leaves...

Thanks man, appreciate the info. I have a serious issue with the cotyledon on one plant, one of them is withering really bad. If you have a moment, please take a look at my thread here, I posted yesterday : https://www.rollitup.org/t/lower-seedling-leaves-are-wilting-bad-big-worry-time.911704/#post-12674317https://www.rollitup.org/t/lower-seedling-leaves-are-wilting-bad-big-worry-time.911704/#post-12674317\

Any insight or tips on this would be much appreciated. It's strange because now on one side, one leaf of the cotyledon seems to be regaining health but on the other side the other leaf is wilting more and getting yellower and yellower, looking almost as if it's about to die completely and drop off.

I'm really sorry to say in my opinion she is already gone. I've been that path. May i know how many times per day did you lifted its cup and looked at it?

Here I took a quick pic of a 3 weeks old sativa, notice the 3rd set is poped and her cotyledon is just starrting to turn yellow. I have watered her two times so far, notice how leaves are in praying posture, she is 6 inches tall and yet i believe she is not strong enough and may die...
Medium is coco and perlite, cheap organic compost, some peat moss, a spoon vermiculite and No nutritional matter, just space with alot of buffer and all. Tap water Cal is good enough.
