*Does topping weaken the smoke??

Hello Guys,

I read that topping your plants will weaken the finished smoke?

It said because the main stem is gone this part is the strongest bud?smoke part is this true?

To those that top is the smoke as good would you say?

I normally do LST but topping seems a much easier and give the same results so i want to start topping but got worried about the quality of the smoke or do i not need worry is it just another bull story

it absolutly does not fuck with the strength of it. all topping does is cause the plants lower growth to speed up while the top heals. also the top becomes 2 tops.
what ive noticed its a preferance thing. when i lst and tie down i end up with a lot of smaller buds, when i just let it go the plant grows one huge cola at top and some side branching

Thanks same as, for me one big cola sometimes don't mature all the way down it so i'd rather two smaller ones which at leat are mature all the way through, i'm topping now the smoke is as good!

In some cases the plant never reaches full potential without being topped, in example a certain strain of blueberry. Topping wont hurt the potency. And it wont reduce the yield either. Pretty much instead of having 1 main cola, you will have 2 almost exactly the same colas in its place.

Topping does nothing to the strength of the smoke. If you are interested in doing it, check out Uncle Ben's topping thread, it's stickied in the Advanced Cultivation section. I use this method, get four main colas on every plant.

You probably kept topping too much. A plant can only be topped a MAX of 8 times before it starts to affect yeild. The branches get to small to produce huge buds. Unless you wait for the to get bigger and cut them back a bit.
