Does waiting in the veg stage = better bud

my dad grow pot for a long time. he says wait until the leaves get you high and then the buds will be a lot better. is this true?

sorry but your dad has burnd his brain smoking leaves....LOL no thats not true.. the buds are always going to be more potent then the leaves even when thew buds are only 2 weeks in flowe. there really ain't shit in the leave worth smoking but make hash, butter honey oils is good.

The longer you wait in the veg, the more hormones in plant and the more node sites. The stronger the branches the thicker the bud.
Look at my ladies on my signature below. I am going to flower only 2 of them next week.

The tricomes on the leafs mature faster than trichs on a bud.

there will be more branches if u wait and that equals more buds. we didnt smoke the leaves but made brownies.
