Doing a small 400watt closet grow below my landlord.Opinions(Can i control the odor)?

Hey rollituppers,

Just looking for peoples opinions on this one. I live below my landlords and have a sweet walk in closet. Ive been thinking about doing a small grow and I just want to hear what people think. It would only be a 400watt grow with like 12 plants at a time in a totally sealed environment with all the proper intake/exhaust with carbon filter. I think I can do it no problem without them knowing (smelling it). They never come into my place. Thanks for the input.

i would give it a shot. sounds like he/she is pretty hands off and wont be snooping the meter and what not. do you blaze without problems there?

Yeah 12, maybe 10. 400 maybe 600w. They will be shorties . Its not unheard of by any means so I dont know what you think is so funny.

It's a risk to grow no matter what(unless you have a med card of course), if you are comfortable with the amount of it in the situation at hand I'd go for it. how thick are the walls and the floor? high powered fans can make alot of noise/vibrations. i can hear my stuff running from the room thats under it pretty clearly so you may have to do some muffling to take care of that.

Hey cacamal, thanks for your input. Nah I dont blaze inside. And I dont think with this low of wattage that they could tell a difference on the meter even if they wanted too.

i run a 400w and my energy usage is still less than the last resident, remember even with a med card, at least in washington, the landlord has the right to evict your ace the moment they find out about it.

but i think they have some kind of proof like a police report to prove cause for eviction.

you can do 5 plants in a 4x4 room no problem, throw in a couple of cfls around the sides and your good to go. i have 5 in my room with a 400w setup and different sizes. ones bout 5 feet, ones bout 3 feet, one at 2 feet and two are at 1 foot

Hey DD420, Thanks for the input. It is a risk always definitly, no no med card for me. As far as the thickness of the walls ceiling and floor goes, I live below them so they wont hear me from underneath. The ceiling in my walk-in which is 11 feet deep and 5 feet wide is just made from some cheap 1 inch panelling. Then there is 2 layers of insulation and a 36inch gap between my ceiling and their floor.

Hey fontaine, thanks for the input. I live in B.C. Canada Im not sure what your laws are there but here landlords have to give you 24 hours notice minimum before entering your premises. (Unless there is a fire and someones life is at risk, its againt the law for them to do so). This would give me plenty of time to just fire my shit into my vehicle and drop it off at my girlfriends for a night or two hah . Thats the great part about a small closet grow, you can dismantle that shit asap if need be.

you won't get enough light to the outer plants and the'll start to stretch. what you need is the lumin to be at a high enough level to flower your plants nicely. i'd suggest more than 1 bulb and an ac system if atall possible. or maby just considering auto's and switching em round day by day. (it wouldn't be good for your plant's though, you may get a hermi)

OHHHH JUST HAD A BRAIN WAVE ... just use compact florecent bulbs to do the rest, shouln't be a problem with heat and you can get all that extra light to the right places easily enough. you probably want one in each corner of your room,4 3foot strip bulb should do it nicely.
