The Chevy Monza was originally designed to use a rotary engine which would be produced by GM under license from Mazda, but GM didn't want to be seen as "legitimizing" the rotary engine which was struggling for acceptance at the time

I bought an old Impala for 200 bucks while in college and drove it for years.
i had a 1972 red ford pinto the guy was selling it because he didn't want his daughter to die in a rear ender $400 did i overpay?
but not to be outdone by my first '66 chevy biscayne for $200..that thing was made the old way it had some weight to it at least for me.

they were all the same car basically but the Cavalier was the small Cadillac at the time.

IIRC they burned oil horribly too. so seems like a dream car for the fossil fuel guys. lol.
