I would definatly recommend you start reading any beginner grow books/guides available.

For my first grow I would just stick to topping or lst.

Anyway, the amount of questions
In your mind leads me to believe you could greatly benefit from reading some start to finish guides
Even if you already have.

Before I started I read for months.
I understood vent size and location etc.

Even then it was challenging.

I don't expect everyone to wait that long.

Even after my first crop went in I started researching plant problems again because logically that is what phase I was in.

Hope that makes sense.
Get a good overview then
Continue to read about the current and next phase while you grow.

After a few runs like that you will have a good basic understanding
But will still have questions.

It's simple but it's not easy

i do so much better hands on. im one of those fools who has to learn the hard way. trying to change that but its just the way i am. i rush in and expect it to turn out perfect. i read The cannabis grow bible by Greg Green. its kind of outdated in some aspects but it gave me an overview of what to do. This forum is another huge vault of knowledge that im glad i found.

I think since I was setting up a room the thought of mistakes was scary.

Killing a single plant is no biggy.
I just diddnt want to buy equipment that was not proportional to the space.

I still fucked shit up though.

Man what I would give to have that kind of space. The ghetto weed closet can be a buzzkill. It works though so I shouldn't complain.
The lighting system is definitely something that I need to learn more about. Cfls are cheap and all but they just don't do it like the led or hid bulbs.

If I learned anything it's that you don't cut off the fan leaves early in flowering. If your defoliating do it when they're really young about the time you top them.

I guess I should clarify that I did pluck the leafs on that plant only so the pollen could fall to the foil.
