I agree...the NYPD is the second strain I got from nirvana and every seed I got from them was female...my first grow was shortrider and by me experimenting, I ended up killing them all...this nypd grow I have now is the farthest I have ever got with growing...I'm in week 6 of flowering...hats off to nirvana!

I started growing in 1972. I have purchased beans online almost since the day they were first available. I have been a member of NUMEROUS boards like this and in all my YEARS of hanging around online in forums like this I have NEVER seen a breeder/seedbank complained about as much as Nirvana or ripped off as many people I knew online and I have never known a breeder/seedbank that ripped off as many people that I have known in person.
Nirvana does not make their own beans, they have ‘outside contractors’ produce their beans for them. Going that route slammed shut the door on being able to have ANY degree of quality control. Regular beans are often mixed in with or are sent in place of feminized beans. Beans shipped are often the wrong beans, the wrong strain.
A number of times over the years Nirvana has threatened to rat out their customers to the customer’s local law enforcement because they complained and asked for replacement beans or a refund. They told the customers they had their info and they would pass it on to customer’s local law enforcement if they did not drop it and let being ripped off by Nirvana slide.
Their genetics do not match up with most breeders. Seldom will you find a skilled experienced grower growing a Nirvana strain unless it is something they found by going through many beans and many plants and eventually happened on something decent and kept it.
Nirvana mostly attracts the bubblegumers of growing, the inexperienced, those that do not know true quality. For some inexplicable reason some of them, like you, seem to love Nirvana. I will never for the life of me be able to understand how in the wide, wide world of sports Nirvana has managed to remain in business for so long given the years and YEARS worth of complaints and horror stories that have happened.
That is the breeder that you called; “a fine seed company.”
If you love Nirvana then you should REALLY LOVE BC Seeds. They advertise the most potent strains in the entire world. You should really shell out a GRAND (Canadian) and purchase some BC Seeds Elephant Bud. They ‘claim’ it has a THC rating of 34%. Maybe BC Seeds Euphoria Limited might be a better choice for you. It only costs $1,395.00 (Canadian) and its ‘claimed’ THC percentage is 36%.
I figure if you get off being ripped off by Nirvana so much you should really love how ripped off you would feel by BC Seeds so I figure you should whip out your credit card …. IF you have one … and make a MAJOR purchase as fast as you can and be happier and more thrilled than ever before.
If magically one day Nirvana was to be the only seed supplier in the world I would start to grow from bagseed or stop growing before I gave Nirvana one single penny of my money. That is just how “fine” of a seed company Nirvana ACTUALLY is.

I mean, its wonderful that he has been growing since 1972, but that doesnt matter to save his life or ours. Everything in the last 5 years is different, let alone even 10 years ago. Much better equipment, room designs, strains, legality, everything is different. Because you've been growing for almost 40 years doesnt make you a "god", it makes you sound like an impatient old senior citizen with nothing better to do than talk about how he thinks a seed company he never used is worse than others. I dont care what your opinion is brick top, but if you have one that differs from mine, please stop pressing it in *MY* threads when the discussion was not the seed companies viability, but the particulars of a particular strain at a particular time and nothing more.

Oh yea...I totally ignored the light question...Its funny you ask because i actually upgraded to more powerful lights today,..i was using 13W 120V 2700k cfl's...now i put 100W 2700K cfl's...Hope the upgrade effects the plant in a positive way...never know til you try...do you have a project poppin?

I purchased a pack of nirvana chrystal and out of 5 only have 1 sprout, I bought from attitude so i cant email them and tell them about it and ask if theres anything they can do because they can only be sold with the intent of not growing them. If i email Nirvana do you think there is chance they will fix it? I bought about a month ago so i dont have the bad seeds to send as proof. I just figured I was out the $ i spent on them, and I just be lucky i atleast got 1.

I never had a problem with Nirvana.I have bought from their site,i have also been to the store in Amsterdam and seems to be a decent business.The seeds have all germed except from 1 and the rest did very well even inside a pc-case!Personally i started growing a Short Rider and seems to be going fine!Its my first grow so i will have surelly made mistakes,but nothing went wrong with the plant!In the 4th week of flower is just fine!2 very close friends of mine,also grew Short Riders from Nirvana,and they also did fine!2 days ago i germed 5 more seeds from Nirvana and they also did fine!
If Nirvana doesnt have the best seeds in the world,i dont really care!They do my job,and they do it well...if Nirvana is more like a shop for amateurs,then its ok...i am amateur too...!

Just because seeds are "feminized" doesnt mean you wont find pure males in a 10 pack. Depending on the genetic background of the strain, you can and will continue to sprout, male, female and hermaphroditic plants. It's not Nirvana, its life.

hey if those seeds really are hermi's then your luck is good, you should separate them and let them make seeds so u dont have to order more...... just my opinion, (hermafradites are where they get fem pollen from).............. please excuse my spelling it sux.
