I got bored today so I thought I would check on my two ladies. I went and checked up on them.. they're doing marvelous as I expected them to be. I noticed that the top layer of the soil on both ladies was dry so I knew that they needed a watering.
So I got and get a bottle of water (pH adjusted).. I come back and I accidentally bump into my thermometer/Biometric Pressure/Humidity gauge pod that I had hanging on the wall to keep things in check.
Well, I noticed something odd.. I remember the temp/humidity levels when I arrived.. which were around 85`F with 47% humidity.. which isn't too bad.. but I've been trying to get the temps down by about 10 degrees.. and have very little luck so far. Well, when I bent over and picked up the gauge pod that I knocked off the wall.. I noticed that the temp/humidity levels had mysteriously jumped. The temp now read 97`F with 72%RH... ... YIKES!!
But then I told myself.. wait a sec.. there's no freaking way its almost 100`F in here. My A/C LCD screen for the house.. says its only 71`F in here... plus it just didn't feel anywhere near 100`F nor did it feel like I had 72%RH.. My body just happens to be quite sensitive to RH/TEMP changes.. and I know what 97`F feels like.. especially with that high of a RH value to go along with it.. which when you have these two variables combined with each other like that.. and the values are high like that.. you get what we call 'Heat Index'.. which is noting more than telling you what it 'feels like' where your at.. when you combine both the temp/rh together.
Anyhow, I decided to run to the Shack and see what kind of digital gauges they had to offer. Plus.. I needed to find myself a good Digital RH reader anyhow.. so I might as well get one that tells me both the temp and the RH. I found one.. so I bought it.
I get home.. I get the thing calibrated and all that good stuff... and I take it to the ladies location to see what the REAL temp/RH values were at.
Well, come to find out.. the gauge cluster I was using.. was even wrong before it hit the floor. The new one is showing readings of 81`F with 37%RH.. and that's way much better than what I thought it would be.. so I couldn't be much happier with those readings.. and I'm pretty sure my two ladies are loving the low RH with the spring time like temps.. especially since they're almost 30 days into flowering.
Anyhow, the point of this thread.. is to help remind people that they should always double check their gauges whenever they can.. and might even be a good idea.. to just go ahead and go get yourself a new digital gauge.. just to double check to make sure the other gauges are giving you an accurate reading.
Thanks for reading..
peace.
